Just because at one time in your life you were at XXX salary does NOT mean you ALWAYS have to be at XXX level
Depends on where you live.
We have cheap housing for Mass (40 miles out of Boston); roughly $1000/mo.
Add the state required health insurance for two, another $1000/mo.
That gets us to $24,000. After taxes, that probably leaves $6000 PER YEAR for food, transportation, electricity, heat, phone (can’t find a job without a phone), etc.
