Car Bomb in Baghdad Neighborhood
The noble mujahideen are attacking fellow Muslims in Iraq again: Suspected Al Qaeda Bomb in Baghdad Kills 25.
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A suspected al Qaeda-linked bomb blast ripped through a Baghdad hotel and neighboring houses in the heart of the Iraqi capital Wednesday, killing at least 25 people and wounding about 45.
Reuters correspondent Luke Baker said bodies were being pulled from the rubble of the hotel, used mainly by Iraqis and Arabs.
“It looks like the bomb was 1,000 pounds of plastic explosives and artillery shells mixed in with explosives to create more injuries,” U.S. Colonel Ralph Baker told CNN as flames and smoke soared into the night sky from the blast.
“It fits the profile of the terrorist organizations we have been combating in the last year — either Ansar al Islam or the Zarqawi people.”
