And Again
Thousands of Palestinians pass through the Erez checkpoint every day, to work inside Israel.
Today, as workers were returning to Gaza in the afternoon, another Palestinian savage blew himself up in an attempt at mass murder and Hamas and Fatah gleefully claimed responsibility.
A Palestinian suicide bomber blew himself up Saturday afternoon at the Erez border crossing in the northern Gaza Strip, wounding four Israelis, one of them critically.
The military wings of Hamas and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement claimed joint responsibility for the attack, which occurred at around 4 P.M.
The two groups identified the bomber as Fadi Al-Amoudi, 22, from Beit Lahiyah in the northern Strip.
Of the other three wounded, one is in serious-to-moderate wounds and the other two sustained light injuries, the Magen David Adom rescue service said. The wounded were taken to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva.
The blast apparently took place at the exit point used by the thousands of Palestinian laborers who pass through the terminal every day after returning to Gaza from work inside Israel. …
“The attack in Erez makes it crystal clear that Israel has no partner and it proves the utter necessity of Israel taking unilateral steps,” said David Baker, an official at the Prime Minister’s Office. “The Palestinians continue to do nothing whatsoever to fight terrorism.”
This is the fourth suicide attack at the crossing this year. On January 14, a female suicide bomber blew herself up at the crossing, killing four Israelis.
