Today’s ride: 40 miles (OK, 39.82) at a medium aerobic pace, up the bike path through Venice, up the Santa Monica Pier to Ocean Ave, north to San Vicente and around the Brentwood country club golf course at a steady pace of 15-18mph. Then back down San Vicente (at about 30 mph) to 7th Street, down to Amalfi Drive. Then we did the climb up Amalfi, past Sunset Boulevard and up to the top of the residential area. The descent down Amalfi was funner ’n hell, at speeds up to 40 mph. That really gets those much-abused neurons firing.

For more cycling insanity, Bill Hobbs at Open Road has an interesting post about new cycling phenom Taylor Tolleson.
