Britain Suspends Visas for Pakistanis
Britain has suspended granting visas to Pakistani males under the age of 25, after a surge of visa applications: Britain: No visas to Pakistani visitors under 25. (Hat tip: zulubaby.)
The Foreign Office said the British embassy in Islamabad received almost 30,000 visa applications last month, more than staff could handle.
It said it had “reluctantly” decided to suspend accepting applications from first-time visitors under 25, and that the decision would be reviewed on a monthly basis. The move does not apply to other categories of traveler, or to people under 25 applying as students.
Britain restored full visa service in Pakistan in May, two years after it was restricted following terrorist attacks in the country. A Foreign Office spokeswoman said officials had expected an upsurge in applications, but had been surprised by the number.
Many Pakistani males under the age of 25 were “educated” in the thousands of madrassas that teach jihad against the West. Think this has anything to do with the Foreign Office’s decision?
