Muslims Seethe Over Underwear Ad
The British Advertising Standards Authority has ordered an underwear company to remove posters situated near a mosque, after Muslims went into full seethe mode: Not near the mosque. (Hat tip: Norwegian kafir.)
The ad’ features four scantily clad women photographed from behind with their bottoms almost total uncovered.
The giant billboard for Sloggi thongs features four models wearing only high heels and G-strings with the slogan “It’s string time!”
It first appeared nationwide in March and April and caused anger in both Muslim and non-muslim communities.
The organizer of the petition is calling this decision a “landmark victory for Muslims:”
The removal of the ad’ was welcomed by the former director of Bury Race Equality Council, Khalid Hussain, who helped to organise the petition.
He said the poster was “insulting” to Muslims and constituted “environmental pollution.”
He added: “This is a landmark victory for Muslims and I am very pleased with the decision.
”The poster has caused anger not only among people in Bury but throughout the north.
But a second poster seems to be no problem:
A second Sloggi poster shows three rugby union players Ben Cohen, Simon Taylor and Peter Stringer, standing facing the camera, wearing only white fitted underpants with the slogan ‘basic power’.
