 RetweetDavos Video Gold Rush

Sun, Jan 28, 2007 at 4:39:06 pm PST

Given the tendency of attendees at Davos to have attacks of foot-in-mouth disease, I think I’ll have a closer look at all these lovely videos the World Economic Forum has made available: World Economic Forum - Podcasts and Webcasts.

I see Thomas Friedman, Mahmoud Abbas, Shimon Peres, Angela Merkel, King Abdullah of Jordan, and lots of other names you may recognize. Mohammad Khatami is featured in more than one.

UPDATE at 1/28/07 5:00:01 pm:

Here’s an edited version of the discussion in which Senator John F. Kerry called the United States an “international pariah.” Oddly enough, that statement seems to have been cut out.

Google Video

Kerry starts talking right after Ayatollah Mohammad Khatami, at about 7:40.

UPDATE at 1/28/07 5:09:33 pm:

And lo and behold, all of Kerry’s inflammatory statements have been edited out of his clip. They cut out Kerry’s “international pariah” statement, and his Kyoto Protocol stuff. They also cut out the bits about viewing the world through “an American lens.”

Looks like someone’s been trying to make sure they don’t have any Eason Jordan moments slipping out to the hoi polloi.

UPDATE at 1/28/07 5:16:21 pm:

But it’s a little late for that.

Here’s a clip of the “pariah” statement at YouTube.

More clips here.

hard to believe there could be any seditious activity there... At least Kerry is doing his job. Wait, doesn't he need to be in DC tomorrow?

what! no video on taking our guns away. Man, can't John Kerry and his Clueless Gang do anything right. The Apple Dumpling gang was a hell of a lot smarter than those asshats.

Thank God, The Devil, Allah ( yeah I know Allah and Devil same ole same ole ) and Ohio for not electing Kerry ( shudder ) leader of the free world.

If I see one more pic of Bono I'll puke.

Anyone read the drudge article on how U2 stashes its cash?

Hyprocite Bono with stupid sunglasses and music that sucks to boot. One hit one wonders in my books "Sunday, Bloody Sunday." That's it!

after that, everything f***king sounds the same, like Bono's sunglasses.

12 St. Pancake  Sun, Jan 28, 2007 2:56:15pm

When did Trout begin stinking?

Please, no more Bono too! Now he stinks

13 St. Pancake  Sun, Jan 28, 2007 2:57:26pm

Actually, I did not read how U2 stashes its cash.

How?

Oddly enough, that statement seems to have been cut out.

It really does seem to be edited, they cut him off in mid sentence but are we sure it's the same speech?

22 Charles  Sun, Jan 28, 2007 3:03:42pm

They cut out Kerry's "international pariah" statement, and his Kyoto Protocol stuff. All the inflammatory stuff is gone.

The problem for the World Economic Forum and Kerry is, the hoi polloi don't go the WEF Web site to get their videos...the hoi polloi watch Fox News (I'm one of 'em)...and it's already too late for Kerry's typical foot-in-mouth triumphs to be excised...

Any one out there more technically astute than me (which means all y'all), should add subtext to the YouTube video with Kerry's vote in 1997 to support the Byrd-Hagel resolution that stated the Senate would never pass joining the Kyoto treaty until China, India and other developing nations were included. 1997...hmm...who was in office then? OH YAH! It was the Clintonistas who refused to even bring the Kyoto treaty to the Senate because of the above reasons. Bush just carried this stance onward...duplicity and hypocrisy anyone?

I hadn't seen that video before, they played the same quotes that were in the print media but I'd like to see the whole thing with missing clips restored.
I find it interesting that Kerry jumps right in after Khatami, and seems very eager to please the Mullah and agree with him. I think Kerry has a deep seated need to be liked.

Charles, funny you should mention Eason Jordan. He was on C-span this morning flacking his new website venture. At one point, he was asked about how he came to leave CNN and he had to explain his Davos moment, when he said US military "targeted" journalists. He smoothly made a little apology, said it wasn't what he meant and moved along.

Eason Jordon's new Web site...

Hmm...I want to hate him, but I have two things to say in his favor: One, he finally came clean about his collusion with Saddam's regime and what a sociopath Saddam was. And two, he offered to pay for Michelle to go to Iraq. It's not common for moonbats to be civil to the enemy.

Davos 07: back in the USSR
January 27th, 2007 by Julian Glover

from Comment is free: Davos 07
The American Dream - or at least the session discussing it - was cancelled this morning and, with a heavy blizzard outside, Davos took on a Russian aspect, a touch of cold war as one of President Putin's most powerful men praised the USSR

Sorry I lost the link.

It’s a disgrace.

Who is Gaia.world-television.com?

Did they edit out John “F” Kerry’s disgusting statements that America was an International Pariah? Exactly, who edits their material? Got any names?

I think Kerry is the Pariah!

And, Gaia.world-television.com is the hand maiden of said Pariah.

78 svjathi  Mon, Jan 29, 2007 5:32:17am

Coming from India, I am so shocked at the way the word "paraiah" is being so freely used in the West. It is similar to the shock Americans feel, when a white guy is caught using the "N..." word.

Paraiahs are part of a group called the "Schedules Castes and Tribes" in India, where they enjoy affirmative action, because of their perceived social backwardsness. They are supposed to have been persecuted by the forward communities(which I personally think did happen) in India over millenia, much like the blacks and natives here in America for centuries. But if you really delve into history of persecution, one can find that these guys were and are persecuted more by others in the same list like the Thevars and the Nadars. Of course, bringing those out in the open would be politically incorrect. So the only people who get blamed for this persecution are the "Jews" of India - namely the Brahmins.
The Brahmins are the common enemy for all those guys who want selection thru anything other than merit. Because of the inherent importance given to education and the spiritual life they lead (mainly aversion to meat and liquour), Brahmins lead the way in education and walk away with most of the jobs in the merit sector. (Affirmative action has caused upto 70% of the jobs in certain states to go to the Scheduled Castes and Tribes.)
The elite in any soceity came to be known as Brahmins, because of the British influence. Kerry, the Kennedys and other elite from Mass. are known as the "Boston Brahmins". So is it any wonder, that he uses the word "Paraiah", probably not even knowing what it stood for?
