15 alegrias  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 9:52:29am

From the Airline Plot by Daniel Henninger @ WSJ online:

"... Umar Islam mocks complacent Brits: "Most of you too busy, you know, watching Home and Away and EastEnders, complaining about the World Cup, drinking your alcohol." This would be fascinating as one nut's reason for murder. It is instead the basis for an ideology to justify blowing up thousands.

The prosecution said a computer memory stick on one of the men at his arrest listed the targeted flights. They were: United Airlines Flight 931 to San Francisco; UA959 to Chicago; UA925 to Washington; Air Canada 849 to Toronto; AC865 to Montreal; American Airlines 131 to New York and AA91 to Chicago. The first flight would depart at 2:15 p.m., the last at 4:50 p.m., allowing all to be aloft and out of U.S. or British airspace when they fell.

The private intelligence-analysis agency, Stratfor, concludes from the trial that "al Qaeda remains fixated on aircraft as targets and, in spite of changes in security procedures since 9/11, aircraft remain vulnerable to attack."

The men planned to take the bomb pieces onboard for assembly: empty plastic bottles, a sugary drink powder, hydrogen peroxide and other materials to be detonated with the flash on disposable cameras.

The arrests of the men, who say they are innocent, were the result of broad and prolonged surveillance. For months, the suspects were bugged, photographed and wiretapped.

33 Ben Hur  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 9:58:24am

I have trouble with this kind of thing.

I get angry because when the BRits thought it was exclusive to Joos and Israel, they didn't give a shit.

When they heard the cries of "kill the infidels!" from their street corners for years and years, they did nothing; "infidels" meant Jews, and "Jews" meant Israel.

They never showed the Pali videos (the people who invented them to begin with).

For years I would scream, "Wait until it happens to you, because it is coming!"

Am I supposed to give a shit?

It's hard, I LOVE British culture. All of it.

I follow the PRemier League for G-d's sake!

My closest friend (in the top three) is a Brit gentile, whose eyes were opened when he took the plunge and actually came to my wedding in Israel (not listening to all the "are you crazy" advice he was getting).

So excuse me if I take the Brit MSM show and feigned concern with a little more than a grain of salt.

I was there (Israel) when buses were blowing up every other day (one blowing the CDs etc, off my shelves).

They didn't give a shit.

"Umar Islam"

Any bets on his real name being something like Jimmy Dorset?

Nevermind, found it

Mr Islam, 29, from Plaistow, East London, a convert of Jamaican origin who was born Brian Young, appeared to be reading from a pre-prepared script in the 18-minute video and punctuated his speech by occasionally jabbing his finger at the screen.

Pathetic

What would happen if you take a kid like Brian Young and tell him that there are many different forms of Islam, all legitimate, some much more intelligent and peaceful than others. Would he be tempted not to fall in with the Wahabbists? What was the tipping point with this kid?

I'm asking because some people say that insisting that this kid is reading the Koran rightly only serves to increase the stature of Wahabbists as normative. If we confuse this kid earlier, maybe he wouldn't join the jihadis.

What the Muslims could not do by force of arms, they have done by simply moving to the UK and the Brits let them do it.

Well, look at Rome and you'll see the same sort of thing - large tribes of "barbarians" migrating into Roman territory and not assimilating. Eventually, they were more numerous than the indigenous Romans and Rome wasn't Rome anymore.

This bastard of a religion entices thugs and ne'er-do-wells to join with promises that any crime they commit against a non-muslim is okay. Very attractive stuff for wannabe jihadis. After all, they're told point blank that it's okay to rape their neighbor's 12 year old daughter. Why wouldn't they come running like cockroaches for the opportunity? And if her father gets in the way... why, just kill him... he's a dirty infidel and deserves it anyway.

When America and the rest of the world comes to its senses and bans this criminal, murderous, slanderous excuse for a religion, the country and the world will be a far better place.

Off-topic, but interesting to think about.

Charles,

When the Chinese crackdown on Tibet started, I wondered what their motivation was. They had to know that any crackdown months before the Olympics would be a huge media story . The Chinese communists are very calculating. They think out every angle before taking actions like these. They know the Games are a 'coming out party' for their nation onto the international stage. So why risk international boycott on such a high profile event? It has occurred to me that the mainland stock market has been going down dramatically, plus inflation (especially food prices) are rising while their economy is slowing. Maybe these facts are why the Chinese are cracking down on Tibet? Get their citizens mind's off the declining economy and get them focused on a outside threat? It explains why there have been credible media reports of Chinese soldiers secretly being filmed putting on the Tibetan monks robes and then stirring up trouble. This is just a theory of mine, but it makes sense. You may want your friends over at Pajamas Media to look into it.
Thanks
CDWT

No, I found him.

7/7 hate preacher deported to Jamaica

A Jamaican-born Islamic cleric, who had a strong influence over one of the July 7 bombers, was extradited back to his home country today, four years after being convicted for inciting racial hatred in the UK.

Abdullah el-Faisal became the first person in more than a century to be convicted under the 1861 Offences Against the Person Act when he was found guilty of soliciting murder and causing racial hatred in 2003. At the time police admitted they did not know how many young, impressionable people he could have turned towards terrorism.

Three years later, the official Home Office narrative of the July 7 bombings recorded that el-Faisal's exhortations to violence had found a willing audience in Jermaine Lindsay, who killed himself and 26 others on an Underground train near King's Cross in the 2005.

Lindsay, also from Jamaica and also a convert to Islam, was found to have attended at least one lecture by el-Faisal and and to have listened to tapes of other sermons. During the preacher's trial, recordings were heard of him telling his audiences to kill Hindus, Jews and other non-Muslims like "cockroaches".

When the Chinese crackdown on Tibet started, I wondered what their motivation was. They had to know that any crackdown months before the Olympics would be a huge media story .

So logic would tell you that the crackdown was a reaction to the Tibetans taking advantage of the Olympics.

Don't blame the reaction to the problem, blame the problem. I am not saying that the Tibetan movement is a problem, I'm just answering.

It was logical for the Tibetan to start protesting right before the Olympics.

I mean, every damn union in Israel, every year, strikes right before Passover, Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur, like effen clockwork.

It's to pressure the gov.

Curious biographical trivia:

Upon promotion to lieutenant colonel, Petraeus moved from the office of the Chief of Staff to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, where he commanded the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)'s 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment from 1991–1993. As battalion commander of the Iron Rakkasans, he suffered one of the more dramatic incidents in his career when, in 1991, he was accidentally shot in the chest during a live-fire exercise when a soldier tripped and his rifle discharged. He was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee, where he was operated on by future U.S. Senator Bill Frist. The hospital released him early after he did fifty push ups without resting, just a few days after the accident.

He's right there. The Brits haven't got a clue. They're so dumbed down by the above mentioned trivia that their awareness of the Islamic menace is zero. They don't care. They're tranquillised into imbecility and soft brained tolerance by the media...mind controlled brain washed dummies. Easy pickings for the Muslims who can see this fatal weakness in the collective consciousness, the loss of self belief, the descent into a plebian proletarian vacuum of bottomless narcissism and vulgar exhibitionism, the loss of core Judeo Christian values, the almost total loss of individual critical thinking. Cultural suicide in other words. Meanwhile, we have psychically marginal nobodies like this worm on the video jabbing his finger at the world...a born loser with a sorry hang dog spaniel face. If I got hold of him I'd spend many days torturing the bastard slowly and then lock him in a pig pen for awhile to bust his chances of an eternal erection in paradise. Oh..and then behead him.

Brian Young, aka Umar Islam, converted a couple of years ago and married a Muslim woman.

I think we have another size five shoe guy here.

If a lot of these guys could be attractive to women without having to be given one on a silver platter, they would never become Muslims. IMHO.

That's offensive to the mentally disabled people of the world. I hate it when people diss the mentally disabled by comparing them with jerks like this guy.

Derbyshire has lots of data, and links to data, on geographic variations in IQ.

He's a bit of a biological reductionist, but these global IQ variations do seem to correlate with per capita income and gdp/person, etc.

The data is readily obtainable.

I don't recall the data for the mid east, but it turns out that a significant proportion of the african population would register as borderline deficient for the western world.

I'm asking because some people say that insisting that this kid is reading the Koran rightly only serves to increase the stature of Wahabbists as normative.

Given the contents of the Koran, hadith, and sura, what isn't normative about Wahabbists? Koranic literalism has always been the normative standard of Koranic interpretation.

Islam is as much a vehicle for Arab cultural supremacy and the destruction of indigenous culture as it is for religious supremacy. Name changes are also a well-known part of cult psychological conditioning.

127 maven  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 1:37:34pm

You are ALL very naughty posters. In the UK we can ONLY talk about this by using the word 'alleged' in front of any signifigant statement.

This is an 'alleged suicide video' where it is alleged he is making a farewell speech about how he allegedly hates non-Msulims (esp Americans, Brits & Jews) and how he is allegedly going to carry out martyrdom operations, allegedly, against a number of flights to The USA (which allegedly appear on a list).

Most of them were filmed appearing in suicide/martyrdom videos, allegedly. The police also bugged them and heard all the discussions about allegedly making explosives from liquids, allegedly

They plead not guilty. The videos were simply entries in an Iranian contest called Martyrdom Star. They didn't really believe those explosives would work so they made joke ones to catch out airport security. They were really working for an Israeli security firm. They don't actually like each other much and so when it came to attend a martyrdom festival in The USA it was natural to use different flights but all taking-off at similar times.

Its ALL a hoax and I'll be shocked if they aren't released and paid millions in compensation.

You see, we're like that in Britain. "Want my wife? Here she's yours!", "Want my car. Hey I don't need it for a few hours". We're easy going and just because MOST Muslims aren't in this trial it would be stupid to suggest there were similar cells like the one(s) on trial. BTW - we can't call them Islamic Terrorists. They are "criminals" and when they use words like "Allah" or say that its their "Islamic duty to be martyrs" then they aren't following true Islam and they aren't Muslims.

I'm off for a holiday to the States. Anyone offer me asylum?

(Yes, a wind-up!)

128 baconeatingkaffir  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 2:29:21pm

This guy needs to take the diaper off his head and come to reality. I think this video would make a nice "This is your brain on drugs" documentary. I'm trying to figure out how people as laid back as Jamaicans can suddnely find themselves in this deathcult. Here in Turkey, alot of the really religious ppl still smoke alot of weed and hash but they refuse to touch alcohol. Do you think there's a connection?

She is the exception that proves the rule.

She is a far cry indeed from your typical 3 toothed palestinian crone, ululating and handing out sweets after a successful suicide bombing.

The midget 'king' of 75% of the palestine mandate certainly knows how to pick 'em.

It's good to be the king.

131 Angus Day  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 3:39:26pm

re: #128 baconeatingkaffir

Absolutely there is a connection.

Islam is like communism - it's all about replacing ethics with rules (that is, there's no objective concepts of things like right and wrong, just what old mo did and didn't allow, and since he obviously didnt know about weed, it's not banned).

So, you can't drink alcohol, but you can smoke weed, shoot up (Iran has a huge heroin problem, I believe), not because one is better, or less harmful, than another, but because there isn't a rule about one, there is about the other...

132 Angus Day  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 3:47:22pm
We love to die in the path of Allah. We love to die like you love life, so you cannot win

Uh, sorry, but your reasoning is a little faulty there. You love to die, ergo,

stop complaining when we kill you
stop complaining when the IDF kill yous
If you love to die and we love to live, then by definition we will win, and if you don't understand that...

Nevermind

I had an inkling you were a woman....something to do with your misplaced empathy for all those millions of retards in the ME and the denial of their collective backwardness. Think you just nailed it there. He's so insecure that he's functioning under group pressure. At this stage the group is all he's got. A very dangerous state of mind that can perpetrate anything in order not to be rejected by other group members. It's a familiar syndrome when atrocities occur. The need to belong to the group is so intense, so driven by the fear of being nothing and nobody, an outsider, in the wilderness, that he'll do anything to avoid being without it. All the ideology is secondary.

137 profitsbeard  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 5:54:17pm

But, if he left a suicide video, why don't the Brits assist him and fulfill his wishes?

A depressing DVD ("Fried Green Tomatoes" with Arabic subtitles) and a bathrobe belt "accidentally" left in his cell, and no guard in the area for a few hours.

Then they can find him hanging, and be shocked, shocked!

138 kuffarharbi  Thu, Apr 10, 2008 6:08:28pm
