Dirty Trick Season
If you haven’t already, go read the debunking of that doctored video clip featuring a Clinton operative saying nasty things about Indianans.
(Before you email asking why I haven’t posted the video…)
I suspect that in this election season we’re going to see a lot more of this stuff, and it will be increasingly targeted at bloggers. Political operatives have much more respect for the power of the blogosphere this time around, and as a result they will do their best to 1) exploit it for their candidate’s gain, and 2) trick bloggers on the “other side” into making mistakes, to damage their credibility.
That 48-hour Rule of Skepticism is more important than ever this year.
And it’s interesting that the first blogger to fall big for a hoax writes for ABC News—one of those pseudo-blogs created by the mainstream media.
