Obama Community Blogs Being Sanitized?

Sun, Jun 22, 2008 at 5:22:53 pm PDT

The Obama site administrators have been quietly trying to eject the worst moonbats, although it’s curious what they apparently continue to permit.

Here’s a Google cached copy (may be gone by the time you click) of a blog post from Chris in St. Helens, Oregon, with a dramatic exit: Barack Obama : : Change We Can Believe In | Independent support: Really.

This blog was deleted within a day of being posted; the direct link now produces an “invalid page.” So the excuse that they’re not watching is getting pretty thin.

Really

So, having talked with JFKfan for over half an hour last night, I came to a personal decision. As of the end of this posting, I will no longer contribute to the Obama blog.

What started out months ago as a true movement by the people to take back their government has turned into just another campaign. I have seen many ardent supporters yanked from this blog, including JFKfan, Jamaican King, c.K., the list could go on and on. Why? Because they no longer fit the image that the professional “king makers”, who have taken the reins of this campaign, want to portray.

As this campaign goes forward, some of the shine has worn off. People at rallies who may be solid supporters, are shuffled off out of camera range. Monies that were refused to keep the movement purely of the people are now accepted out of political expediency. Statements to special interest groups, which are counter to previous statements, are becoming common.

In short, our little Barack is growing up. This campaign is taking on a dimension that he cannot control himself, so he is hiring “professionals” to run different aspects, this blog being one of them. It is part of the “boiling down” that Obama so proudly resisted in the beginning.

I will still vote for him, there is no question as to that. And the sign in the pasture will remain for all who pass by the farm to see. But I see no point in coming here anymore to sing to the choir or defend our candidate as though I still thought of him as “above it all”. I always knew you couldn’t stay above it all and still be elected President. Not these days. Not for some time.

So, good bye and good luck to all. It’s been a hoot.

A screenshot, because this page has already gone down the memory hole:

A true movement of "The People" does not begin with a brain dead Chicago Democrat.

A movement of bowels perhaps. A day of the living dead maybe. But not an actual movement of the actual citizens of our republic.

Come then, the slings and arrows,
slung and strung upon the tentacles of insects,
My pain blotting out, always the gentleman,
the result of empathy toward your exoskeletons,
Let not your spines be severed,
for then, our discussion ends,
none left to honor my passing.

So lemme get this straight...

Chris from St. Helens is worried about the campaign getting too professional, but not about it being supported and infested by lunatics?

MoveOn demands a filibuster

Insisting on a campaign promise that Obama would filibuster any wiretapping bill that included retroactive immunity for the telecommunications companies that let the government listen in, Obama's allies at MoveOn are asking supporters to "call Sen. Obama today and tell him you're counting on him to keep his word."

Obama has said he'll work in the Senate to strip that provision from the House bill, but stopped short of promising to filibuster the bill.

I have gone back and forth over what I will do on the first Tuesday in November. I don't like either one of the presumptive candidates. On most social issues I am liberal, (legalize it, don't criticize it) and a conservative economically (low taxes, free trade). I seriously considered staying home. Then I re-read some foundational American writings. Our fore-fathers considered it our duty to vote. So I will. For McCain. Obama is just too dangerous not to oppose.

I have seen many ardent supporters yanked from this blog, including JFKfan, Jamaican King, c.K., the list could go on and on. Why? Would EXECUTIVE OUTCOMES still be in business for settling the hash in "ZIM" - In Truth, "Zim" is a UK responsibility at this point since ZA will do nothing. What the UK will do under PM Brown - Probably Nothing, Under Cameron - Who Knows? Were Lady Thatcher still PM - the SAS would have landed already - with results similar to Grenada 1983.

At best, the War on Drugs is a fraud. At worse, well, let's just say Rev Wright might have been on to something (OK, not the most popular position). Access to drugs has never been easier. The cost has never been lower. Just taking into account the corruption, keeping drugs illegal has caused great harm to our country. Let's tax and regulate marijuana just like we do alcohol. Bill Buckley was right.

There is a common misconception afoot.

People talk about 'room under the bus.'

After the bus has run over the latest surplussed ally, said ally becomes 'road kill,' and the bus continues on down the road. Periodic stops in car washes keep the bus sparkling clean.

There is an infinite amount of room under the bus. Road kill is eaten by scavengers and forgotten.

I think the world is seriously changed since then, and while I wish someone would pull off a Grenada or Panama operation, one has to wonder if any of the Africans will stand up for the freedoms that were hard won there and around the region. South Africa has stood alongside the dictator - and there's no other word to describe what Mugabe is - he's effectively destroyed the democratic machinery in Zimbabwe.

The other nations of Africa have yet to deal with these issues, and hoping that the old colonialists come in and take on the responsibilities of the Africans themselves is troubling.

You mention some true aspects, but debating the legalization of marijuana wasn't my point. All I'm saying is that a President can do more to push through legislation on tax matters than on the merits of marijuana use. That's all.

Agreed, Dr. Shalit. The only problem is that this doesn't matter to the idiot liberals in this country for two reasons:

1.) This requires a complex chain of thinking.

2.) Most of them admire Hugo and his "compassion" for the poor.

It makes me absolutely sick.

OK Everyone -

There is such a thing as "Men's Fashion" - just doesn't change as fast or as much as that of all 'y'all womenfolk. Kinda like a retreating glacier vs. a waterfall. We are about +/- 25 years into the "Docker's Look" as you can easily see from the "Obama Show." Only the colors have changed, and the pleats are mostly eliminated.
