DNS Cache Poisoning Attacks?

I’ve received several emails this morning from readers in Britain who are being redirected to a bogus “virus checking” site when they try to visit LGF. The problem is not with LGF; if this is happening to you, it’s very likely that your ISP did not promptly patch their DNS servers against this attack: DNS Flaw Leads To Internet ‘Poisoning’ Attacks.

UPDATE at 7/12/08 10:25:14 am:

Other readers are now emailing from Europe, and the problem appears to be very widespread there. Some people in the US are also reporting problems, not just with LGF but with many sites.

UPDATE at 7/12/08 11:38:39 am:

If you’re having these kinds of problems, try switching your DNS servers to the ones maintained by OpenDNS: OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster Internet.
