Zombie: Bush Derangement Bus Arrives in San Francisco

Tue, Jul 29, 2008 at 5:01:52 pm PDT

Remember that biodiesel-burning 28-ton tour bus converted into a whacked out (but nicely designed) monument to Bush Derangement Syndrome?

Zombie’s latest is an account of the arrival of this insane waste of resources in San Francisco, just in time to cause a scene outside the John McCain campaign fundraiser at the Fairmont Hotel: McCain in San Francisco: Fundraiser Protest.

UPDATE at 7/29/08 5:22:13 pm:

The Bush Bus has its own web site, with a blog and everything, and they like to delete comments that criticize them: The Bush Legacy Tour.

Well, poop.

What will the bus look like if their guy gets in? Print'll have to be bigger so it can be seen from the ground; what with all piles of bodies under it.

The passengers generate their own hot air.

27 StPatrick  Tue, Jul 29, 2008 5:14:23pm

Jones,

You don't get a bus. You get to continue contributing to society, so these leftards can benefit from your unwilling largesse as they attempt to take more from you, in order to buy off the votes of those less interested in their own self-sustenance.

Personal responsibility is only for those who have it. The rest will also benefit from said responsibility, but it won't be theirs.

No bus for you!

re: #25 theparson

Is it a requirement that you be insane to be a liberal or does it just happen that way?

It insanity or a lobotomy.

If I were a believer in Lovecraftism I would have to tag BHO as a manifestation of Nyarlathoptep:

From DEITIES & DEMIGODS

Cyclopedia of gods and heroes from myth and legend for Advanced D & D. Published by TSR in 1980.

NYARLATHOTEP (the crawling chaos, the messenger of the gods)

[Also known as Nyarly in The Unspeakable Vault (of Doom)]

Lesser god

[skip stats]

Nyarlathoptep appears as a tall dark man. His appearance in the world is said to foretell the the return of the Old Ones from their imprisonment. He charms humans, humanoids, and non-magical animals by his mere presence (good alignment, save at +4; evil alignment, save at -4). Those falling under his spell either obey him or behave in a purely chaotic manner. Thus his progress across the face of the land is followed by riot, war, mass murder, suicide, and insanity. No non-sentient creature can harm him, even if controlled.

The god is believed by some students of the occult to have various guises, including a red bat-like form with three evil eyes. He can call up an army of wild beasts or mindless humans within an hour's notice (1-100 of them). Each time Nyarlathotep hits an enemy, he drains 3-30 hit points from them, which temporarily add to his hit point total for one full turn. There is a 5% chance that a continual light spell will drive this being off into the Astral Plane.

Someone should drive around in a huge bus mocking the left. It would be so easy.
Just think of the things to say:

Tired and useless Left-wing fever-hate sweeping the nation:
18 wheels of endless whining, blaming and complaining -
Here is want we demand!
Euro-style entitlement programs! We want to suck of the tit of cradle to grave government programs - and you are going to pay for it!
While Europe is trying to get out of decades of socialist Rule -we left wingers want to heap it on! Free health care for all! Free groceries! Wind power! - but not really, we just want to whine about it...

Given Democrat poll history, Obama should be 10-12 points ahead just now. Instead he is barely ahead among registered voters and 5 points behind with likely voters. This is worse than Dukakis in '88, and much worse than Gore and Kerry in the last two elections.
Disaster looms everywhere the moonbats look, Iraq, Afghanistan, Europe, and now the American ballot box.

Obama can bite my icy Oscar Meyer.

Lefties simply have to conjure up every real or imagined sin of the united states. They can't help themselves. While we fought a war (600,000 dead) to free men from slavery, the arab world was buying and selling humans at a vigorous clip. When the British took over the emirates and various poobahistans and satrapys they banned slavery. The arabs reacted by calling their slaves "adopted children" and continued to opress and murder them. When is Obama going to apologize to the world for those sins? or the timeless wars, genocides, murders, enslavements dispossessions or outright thievery of man all over the planet.

It pisses me off to have some nutless wonder try to make Americans ashamed of themselves.

Screw him.

102 zombie  Tue, Jul 29, 2008 5:40:49pm

Hey, I missed my own thread!

I was busy doing two things:

Adding a video to the report (you can view it directly here on YouTube), with this caption:

Here's a video of Leo Lacayo giving part of his pro-McCain interview (after the sign-in-the-face guy was successfully shooed away), followed by a phalanx of anti-McCain protesters chanting "No more Bush WAR," with an odd emphasis on the word "war."

Also, I made an entry at zomblog about the same photo Charles featured above, with this observation:

An "allegory" is a symbolic representation of an abstract idea, sometimes used in artworks to evoke concepts that can't be depicted directly. Allegorical photographs, however, are extremely rare, because (unless they are posed studio photographs) one cannot arrange or construct the elements of any candid image to convey a particular philosophical notion. Yet this picture I took at the rally strikes me as a perfect example of an allegorical photo, because the accidental figures in the foreground (a Muslim woman in traditional garb, turning away sadly and leaving the scene -- while a young westernized woman arrives to take her place) perfectly encapsulates the real "Bush legacy" announced on the side of the bus in the background; the idea being that the modernizing and westernization of Middle Eastern culture may be Bush's actual long-term legacy, and not the temporary (and debatable) legacies mentioned on the bus itself. What do you think?

A news item today, SF Mayor Gavin Newsome had a secret meeting today with the guy who programmed the entire computer system for the city. It appears that someone pissed the guy off so he refused to hand over the root password for the system. They put him in jail and charging him with felony computer tampering. Apparently today the mayor coaxed at least some access outta the wierdo. A few observations:

1. Who in their right mind would farm out such a large project to an individual, with little in the way of bona fides and certainly no ability to be bondable or have resources.

2. how did it come to pass that they had a system delivered and no one else in the entire city knew a root/admin level password?

3. What protected group or favored minority must this guy belong to so that he gets such a huge contract?

Nope. You used TWO five-letter words. They won't get it. Too hard. Requires thinking.

Now "GIVE ME ALL YOUR STUFF FOR FREE NOW" might be pushing it just a tad, since there are eight words in the sentence, but only one is five letters and there are a lot of three letter words, so they might be able to get this one without too much trouble.

While I am wondering..........Has it not occurred to any of these morons that President Bush is not running for re-election? This whole bus thingee represents the entire leftist movement at its best; that is to say, irrelevant. And silly.

Here's their strategy:

1. Attack Bush.
2. Associate McCain with Bush.
3. Repeat.

They have to do this because they have practically nothing to to attack McCain about personally himself. Hence the "McCain = Bush III" signs.

re: #102 zombie

Long term legacies are hard to predict. If one optimistically believes that Bush has given Iraq a fighting chance a becoming a real democratic republic, it is still the Iraqi people's tasks to sustain if they so desire to do so.

Militarily, if the country even had a mindset anymore to understand such things, Bush has actually had 2 very successful wars. Let us remember that the #2 superpower at the time left Afghanistan with their tail between their legs after many years and many more casualties. And that country was right on their border. I understand that things have backslid in recent months. Nonetheless I feel confident in this countries abilities to complete the task. NATO -- not so much.

Iraq is a country that even Bush I (one) did not think was a good idea to invade. The reasons were not the great game ones that so-called deep thinkers like to throw out (who will control the unruly mob if Saddam leaves?). The real reason is that tens of thousands of casualties were not worth a military action whose primary purpose was to repel an invasion of another sovereign nation. Although Iraq was greatly weakened by the 12 year embargo and air blockade -- still -- fighting a war thousands of miles away while engaged in another conflict -- and doing it with an all-volunteer army, and ONLY having less than 5000 killed would seem to be a remarkable achievement.

I think it unseemly for presidents to be worried about legacies when there is real "business" at hand in the current moment. I alway hearken back to my Dad's dislike of both Truman and Eisenhower while he was in the Air Force in Korea. Eventually Truman was revered and Eisenhower seems to at least been gently remembered as having a nice golf routine. As for the dislike, my Dad, always the realist said, who the hell likes their boss anyway?

Legacies are not the province of the living.

Is Blue State Digital the same as Blue State?

Blue State, Soros and BHO.

Financier-philanthropist George Soros hired Blue State in the fall of 2006 to work on two projects. The firm created a Web site for a fellowship-like program that sends journalists to New Orleans to document the city's rebirth. Blue State also has made Soros' European Council on Foreign Relations think tank more Web-friendly, and has taught academics how to blog effectively about business and economics.

Obama retained Blue State nine days before launching his candidacy in February 2007. It was a shrewd choice because the firm can do a lot with a little: According to filings, the Obama campaign has paid Blue State not much more than $1.1 million so far.

The Bush Derangement Bus:

"Economy In Crisis": Horseshit -- the economy is in no crisis, despite whatever shortcomings it may be undergoing currently. Besides, Bush is not responsible for all the forces molding the economy -- no president is. However, his tax cuts can be pointed to as actually stimulating the economy, to the extent that any executive action can provide effect.

"Endless Iraq War": End has yet to be determined, so it's a bit premature to call it "endless." Blame Democrat Congress for not pulling the financial plug on the war if you want to see it end quickly.

"Healthcare's a Mess": Whatever condition it's in now is the same as before Bush took office (as though healthcare was perfectly fine when Clinton ran the show). Besides, didn't Bush sign the massive prescription drug benefit bill? More than Clinton did.

"Record Gas Prices": Bush has nothing to do with the price of gas. No president does.

So I say the same thing. Let the Dems jump up and down screaming that Bush sucks. It won't hurt McCain. And while I hate to see a basically good guy have his reputation tarnished there are two points to remember: 1) its going to happen regardless, and 2) the really important thing is to keep that surrender monkey, Obama, out of the White House. It's important to remember that had McCain accepted Kerry's invitation to be vice President in 2004, the people in this bus would have been passing out pro-McCain brochures instead of anti-McCain propaganda.

I think the Democrat party really needs to have their hypocrisy shoved in their faces regarding McCain.

Hey Democrats! You thought McCain was the #2 best man for President 4 years ago, what happened?
