Code Pink Meets Ahmadinejad

Moonbats | Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 7:16:48 pm PDT

It’s tempting to dismiss Code Pink, because their behavior is so stupid and clownish most of the time.

But this is not clownish: Official release: CODEPINK activists and other peace organizations meet with Iranian president in New York.

NEW YORK — Calling it a “major step forward” in relations between Iran and the United States, leading activists Medea Benjamin and Jodie Evans of CODEPINK Women for Peace — along with more than 150 other U.S. peace group representatives — met Wednesday afternoon with Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here following his appearance at the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. ...

“U.S. government officials are quick to stir up hostilities with Iran, but the American people are tired of war,” said Benjamin, co-founder of the nonpartisan women’s peace group CODEPINK. “The peace movement represents the sentiment of the majority of Americans who want our two countries to find ways to work together and improve relations. We are modeling the behavior we want to see our government adopt.”

The CODEPINK women proposed inviting American and Iranian artists to build a “peace park” in Tehran, a memorial dedicated to people-to-people commitment to peace and diplomacy between our two countries. ...

“It’s rare for a head of state to take time during an official U.N. visit to meet with the peace community, especially in a situation where the host government—represented by the Bush administration—is so hostile,” said Evans, co-founder of CODEPINK. “The fact that the meeting took place and was so positive is, in itself, a major step forward.”

Uh, next time would you speak your mind? That comment was more than a little obtuse.

34 Bookworm  Thu, Sep 25, 2008 7:24:14pm

This goes beyond naivete, which is perhaps a forgivable sin if the actor is either pure to the point of idiocy, or just an idiot. I don't give Evans credit for being that stupid.

This is someone who blithely steps forward to shake hands with someone who (a) has expressed a wish to incinerate another nation; (b) who sponsors massive terror against Christians generally and Americans specifically; (c) who has paid for the slaughter of perhaps thousands of the American troops Evans claims to weep over; and (d) who routinely brutalizes his own people with hangings, beatings, amputations, and other tortures that never even see the light of day.

Even your average idiot would shy away from that record. So, one must conclude that Evans is just as evil as Ahmadinejad. And the press treats her like a respectable human being, which is just as bad.

35 gop_patriot  Thu, Sep 25, 2008 7:24:17pm

Pieces of Sh*t.

They also proposed a plan to invest funds in an Iranian business, one that produces green and sustainable products, such as bicycles. This grassroots investment would be the opposite of efforts by the Bush administration and Congress to tighten sanctions, a move which CODEPINK thinks would only hurt ordinary, everyday Iranians. Such a symbolic CODEPINK investment in a green, sustainable business would challenge U.S. regulations blocking trade with Iran and would show how diplomacy and trade are preferable to war and sanctions.

OH, and morons. Despicable, foolish morons.

Related - Catholic League abhorring WCC and encouraging people to come to a rally protesting their terrorist love feast.

CHRISTIAN APPEASERS WELCOME AHMADINEJAD

On September 25, there will be a press conference and a rally outside the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City at 5:30 p.m. to protest the five Christian organizations that are welcoming Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Those organizations are the World Council of Churches, Religions for Peace, the Americans Friends Service Committee, Mennonite Central Committee and the Quaker United Nations Office; they are hosting a Ramadan fast-breaking dinner (Iftar).
...
Over 50 organizations have now joined the protest, which is being sponsored by Women International; .... Catholic League president Bill Donohue explains why his organization is participating:

The most prestigious organization welcoming Ahmadinejad is the World Council of Churches (WCC). Its politics are so radical that its agenda could easily be endorsed by any Marxist atheist. It was not for nothing that Jewish interreligious leader Israel Singer once branded the WCC ‘the head office for the dissemination of antisemitic statements.’ Indeed, after Yasser Arafat died, the WCC stated that the Arab terrorist ‘came to the recognition that true justice embraces peace,’ something that many Israeli mothers must have found mind-boggling.

To appease someone like Ahmadinejad is sickening, but for it to be done in the name of Christianity is enough to induce vomiting. We strongly encourage Catholics and others to attend the rally.

Yes, the Acorn thing was quite the revelation though not all that surprising. I called my House Rep tonight and thanked him for hanging tough. It is clear that action is needed but not just any action. It is equally clear that Dirt Bag Reed and Fart Bag Franks had good cause for their tantrum this afternoon - they thought they could ram this Socialist program right through a vulnerable system. Now it will not go so well for them.

A serious question for Jewish lizards.

What we know to be obvious, is that there are still so many Jews who are faithful to Israel, and the idea of Israel.

Still, a disproportionate number of them have been holding hands with the left in this country for decades now. The anti-war left like Code Pink to be specific.

Would seeing something like this, a "meeting" between these leftist assholes, and someone who has vowed to wipe Israel off the map, is this enough to convince them?

I am totally serious. Over the last couple of days, I have been trying to pull myself out of a funk, because what I feel I am watching unfold is more than disturbing, almost along the lines of ominous.

Please tell me, please tell me there are some whose liberalism has not blinded them, so they are unable to see the flash point of the detonation this bastard looks to unleash against their brothers and sisters.

What does this have to do with housing, ACORN? Hmmm?

A national organization that conducts voter registration drives for low-income people has curtailed its push in Cuyahoga County after the Board of Elections accused its workers of submitting fraudulent registration cards.

The board is investigating the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Results of the inquiry could be turned over to the county prosecutor.

Board employees said ACORN workers often handed in the same name on a number of voter registration cards, but showing that person living at different addresses. Other times, cards had the same name listed, but a different date of birth. Still another sign of possible fraud showed a number of people living at an address that turned out to be a restaurant.

From the Medea link:

In Corinth, Jason left Medea for the king's daughter, Glauce. Medea took her revenge by sending Glauce a dress and golden coronet, covered in poison. This resulted in the deaths of both the princess and the king, Creon, when he went to save her. Then Medea stabbed to death the two sons she bore Jason. Afterward, she left Corinth and flew to Athens in a golden chariot driven by dragons sent by her grandfather Helios, god of the sun.

Why- what a lovely figure from literature to take your name from. And frankly- I find it fitting.

It'll buy a lot of voter fraud

Seven charged in vote-fraud scheme

Satterberg called Mitchell "a ringleader." According to charging papers, he encouraged canvassers he supervised to forge registration forms to meet ACORN's quota of 18 to 20 registrations per canvasser per day at a time when the organization was threatening to shut down the Puget Sound voter drive for poor performance.

Mitchell allegedly told investigators that a staff member in the ACORN national office promised him a $25,000-a-year job with benefits "if he got the numbers up."
Charging papers said Debwa, who was responsible for verifying the identity of newly registered voters and submitting cards to election officials, suspected canvassers were falsifying registrations in the final weeks of the two-county registration drive but didn't report it to higher ACORN officials for fear of losing her job.

Canvassers were paid $8 an hour, prosecutors said.

ACORN's Washington state president, John Jones, said he will put the emphasis in future campaigns on "doing it right" rather than meeting a quota. To guard against fraud in the future, he said, "We're going to screen people better, we're going to do background checks on them, we're going to check their references, we're going to get people with a track record in doing this. ...

"I apologize to the residents of the state of Washington. One thing we know for sure is ACORN is coming back, we're coming back stronger and we're going to give you a better product."

Jones said he was unaware of canvassers' criminal records.

According to court documents, Mitchell has two convictions for violating orders of protection against his girlfriend. He is currently booked into Pierce County Jail on a charge of violating a protection order issued in June.

Johnson pleaded guilty in Pierce County in 2002 to two counts of second-degree child molestation for taking part in a "truth or dare" game that resulted in a 12-year-old girl touching the private parts of an adult man. She also has convictions for burglary and theft in King County Superior Court.

Olson pleaded guilty in Pierce County to a 2005 charge of harassment for writing a bomb-threat note he claimed was intended as a prank on a co-worker. Greene is in Pierce County Jail on charges of possessing crack cocaine.

Elsewhere, four ACORN canvassers in Kansas City, Mo., have pleaded guilty in federal court to felony voter-registration fraud.

161 lawhawk  Thu, Sep 25, 2008 7:45:36pm

More to the point, under the deal that had been worked out before things broke down, $700 billion was the cap:

Under the plan, the Treasury secretary would get $250 billion immediately and could have an additional $100 billion if he certified it was needed. The last $350 billion could be blocked by a vote of Congress under the arrangement, designed to give lawmakers a stronger hand in controlling the unprecedented rescue.

In other words, the bailout was pretty much $350 billion, and if that wasn't sufficient, it would be backstopped with another $350 billion with Congressional approval.

Marxism is an all-encompassing cult. It blinds all reasoning - way beyond the point of self-harm.

Marxist Jews are internationalists. They don't care about loyalty to their people, but they do like to think they are being EXTREMELY good Marxists if they can sell them out by buddying up to psychos like Ahmadinejad and HAMAS. Kill the bailout: More ACORN funding?!

Just heard from several readers that Lindsay Grahamnesty told Fox that the Mother of All Bailouts includes a reported $100 million more in funding for the left-wing housing entitlement thugs and heavily tax-subsidized fraudsters at ACORN. Under the original bailout proposal, apparently, a large portion of any repayment of the $700 billion would go to Barack Obama’s good friends at ACORN with a smaller allocation to debt repayment.

re: #113 formercorpsman

I'm afraid that even this disgusting meeting will not shock many American Jews into changing their views from lefty to sane.

Here in Israel, where you'd hope some self-preservation would help people see more clearly, we have tons of Jews who like hostile Arabs much more than right-wing or religious Jews (let's not even mention settlers).

And the seemingly infinite number of terrorist attacks, genocidal statements, etc. etc., do not seem enough to cluebat them.

But have hope. In Israel, as in the U.S., there are the people making up the backbone of the country, who evaluate events as they happen, don't distort them with ideology to the point where war is peace and love is hate, and generally come to reasonably good conclusions in time.

(Sorry I'm too tired to edit this for pomposity.)

Those fools would kill us all and sadly Obama is not far away from their foolish "if we are nice to them they will be nice to us" mindset. I am still searching for an article (MSM) I read earlier today which described a potential 20% reinvestment in low income housing as a return to the taxpayers as these properties are liquidated. The unavoidable fact of reality is that the self-styled "peace activist" is not a morally superior being, he or she is a willing accomplice to conquest, slavery, and mass murder. They have to do something. Come on! Do they really think they will survive a total economic meltdown? Or is that the frigging plan ... let it all melt down and invite in the commies?

The saddest part is that the Demonrats are responsible for this mess. Yes, the must do something, and if they don't do something meaningful? May G-d help us all. This is for Sen. McCain to help settle, and he must, or we are all sunk, and there will then be a more than 50/50% chance of a real depression.

The Demonrats created this, and the Republicans must take charge and come up with a Bill that will be no-nonsence and no give aways. Not easy, but this is a challenge they must take and overcome.

For our kids and grandkids? I don't even want to think what this will do to them, as it will shape the future for many, many years.

So help me, if I hear one more 'uh' out of Hussein? [Deleted].

246 Tigger2005  Thu, Sep 25, 2008 8:04:13pm

I just can't buy this $140 billion figure. It's unreal. If the Democrats are really trying to pull this, holding our economy hostage to enable Obama to buy the election (which is essentially what this would be ... not just blackmail, but a massive campaign contribution to Obama), they are traitors, and need to have done to them what is supposed to happen to traitors.

But I just can't buy it. $140 BILLION? That's not an earmark. Come on. Who could accept this (other than ACORN)? Think of all the agencies, all the hospitals and clinics, all the research projects, businesses, etc. out there, strapped for cash, that would be screaming with rage over some "community organization" getting an insanely unprecedented amount of cash.

Honestly. I'm not even part of the tribe, and this kills me as if I were.

The rhetoric coming out of this vile creature, and the left opens their legs to him.

It is driving me insane.

Aside from the cultish aspects of the Marxism set up, there are other, deeper psychological problems at work here. The sort of Jew that abandons "the tribe" and works against it, is doing so to "prove" something about themselves.

This neurosis works within the wider Jewish paradigm - formed out of 2000 years of persecution. The extreme leftist Jew joins that persecution - superficially to define themselves as having a separate, rebellious identity, but - on a deeper level, because they hate themselves. Hating Israel and siding with persecutors is half insecurity and half self-harm.

Don't feel too angry about them. They are still a small minority and they are very, very, VERY unhappy people.

We all want peace as much as these Code Pinks do. This reminded me of one of the many horrific (pre-PC) fairy tales that my grandfather read me. Little Red Ridding Hood. Had to look way back to find the original that actually taught the real lesson.
I just hope they figure out that their grandmother is really a wolf before the fourth and final obvious clue!

'Oh! grandmother,' she said, 'what big ears you have!'
'All the better to hear you with, my child,' was the reply.
'But, grandmother, what big eyes you have!' she said.
'All the better to see you with, my dear.'
'But, grandmother, what large hands you have!'
'All the better to hug you with.'
'Oh! but, grandmother, what a terrible big mouth you have!'
'All the better to eat you with!'
And scarcely had the wolf said this, than with one bound he was out of bed and swallowed up Red Riding Hood.

It proves how hard they are. How committed. They think that they are leading the way for the rest of us deluded Jews (who they also claim to care about).

re: #253 uptight

I'm not down on them in as much as I am disgusted with the inability for so many people to not only see the contradictions to their own theory. Pretty much any liberal, despite affiliation.

Let alone, dismissing history that is not left in some book written in a language of antiquity. To see a Jew not connect with this, but to actually decide to chum the water before listening to the lifeguard tell him it will be fine to swim blows my mind. I guess for me, as an outsider of sorts looking in, trying to comprehend the purveyor of another holocaust, I can't wrap my brain around it.

It is becoming painfully obvious, we are in the birthing process of our policy over the last 40 years.

The gestational period was difficult, but we could still walk around. As we grew, things got difficult, but we managed.

The last 8 years of hysterical anti-war hype, has been the Pitocin of the far left dilating, and now with their feet in the stirrups.

I am so glad the International Day of Peace is over with. The nonprofit prayer/spiritual publishing/spiritual education ministry I work for sponsored an "11 Days of Global Unity" event which ended on Sept. 21. I didn't attend any of the events, because the whole thing was moonbattish to the extreme and I just didn't think I could stomach it. Anti-semite Arun Gandhi was a featured speaker, and the list of "resource organizations" was a virtual who's who of radical left-wing groups, including, yes, CodePink. I hate the way this organization has gone whole hog for liberalism and New Age crap. It didn't use to be like that. It used to be very apolitical and middle-American in its values. It's the same way with the Unitarian/Universalists. Thomas Jefferson was a Unitarian, and my grandfather, a businessman (truck equipment and repair) was a founding member of the first Unitarian church in Kansas City. I doubt he'd recognize the type of people who call themselves Unitarians today.

It's frustrating, but I've worked there a long time and have good benefits, and I like my coworkers. And I have severe hearing loss, so it wouldn't be that easy for me to find another job.

Please, take this comment from someone who knows Eric Blair better than most people. I am one of only 4 people that have ever been given permission by his estate to adapt 1984 to stage.

And part of the process of adapting that novel to stage was a lot of study of the man and his writings.

Yes, he was and anti-idiotarian (in a sense) but this Wiki entry gives you a good overview of his politics.

"Orwell's political views shifted over time, but he was a man of the political left throughout his life as a writer. In his earlier days he occasionally described himself as a "Tory anarchist". His time in Burma made him a staunch opponent of imperialism, and his experience of poverty while researching Down and Out in Paris and London and The Road to Wigan Pier turned him into a socialist. "Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism, as I understand it," he wrote in 1946."

re: #253 uptight

Does that apply to Bill Maher and his (from the looks of it) repulsive new film?

(Is he jewish? The name is, but I suspect his true religion is Communism)

Most here know I'm not overly religious, but his film looks offensive on all levels, any bets he doesn't insult Islam to the same degree he insults everyone else?

Things will be hopping around here - I live across the street from a synagogue. Hardly anyone goes to it except on the high holy days, when everyone goes at once. There is another one about four blocks away that is orthodox, which is pretty busy on Saturdays. And there is a Russian one across the street from the Royal Farms.

Fond memory - explaining to two Pakistani immigrants at the 7-Eleven why there was no business that day. It was a holy day, and I explained they were in a Jewish area that celebrated it - explained the actual holy day as best I could. It was funny, because every afternoon, they get huge business from the young men from the Ner Israel Rabbinical College, which is about six blocks away from their location, so I figured they would have put two and two together, but no. :D

Does that apply to Bill Maher and his (from the looks of it) repulsive new film?

Most here know I'm not overly religious, but his film looks offensive on all levels, any bets he doesn't insult Islam to the same degree he insults everyone else?

I've not heard of the film. Maher is an Irish name.

Maher is certainly a liberal, but if he is a self-hating Jew it can't be to the scale of Finklestein & Chomsky (whose neurotic identity crisis is visible from outer space).

re: #286 formercorpsman

I'm not down on them in as much as I am disgusted with the inability for so many people to not only see the contradictions to their own theory. Pretty much any liberal, despite affiliation.

Let alone, dismissing history that is not left in some book written in a language of antiquity. To see a Jew not connect with this, but to actually decide to chum the water before listening to the lifeguard tell him it will be fine to swim blows my mind. I guess for me, as an outsider of sorts looking in, trying to comprehend the purveyor of another holocaust, I can't wrap my brain around it.

To a commie, the only truly important thing is "the revolution".

Jobs, relationships, race, nationality - sometimes even family - are dispensable.

Sometimes throwing such things under the bus is (in their mind) the sign of a true revolutionary martyr. That's why the far left love self-hating Jews so much.

To a commie Jew, loyalty to his people is a demonstrable sacrifice he can make - it shows how committed he is. You can bet your ass he feels damn proud when he sells it out - that's why self-hating Jews are so full of themselves.

In reality, selling out your own people is not much of a sacrifice for them. Commies don't believe in borders, tribes or nationalities.

For a communist Jew to turn on Israel is like a bald man turning on combs.

I'm an atheist. I don't have any stake in sticking up for religion, but I think it's good manners not to insult anyone's beliefs as long as they aren't hurting anyone.

A liberal sees faith (especially the faith of his family) as an embarrassment and something to be attacked in the same way he attacks conservatives, gun owners and people who drive SUVs.

Liberals also look down upon religion as superstitious clap trap and believers as rednecks and fools. I understand people having a difference with doctrines, but in a universe where none of us can even see around corners - much less understand the complexities of life, it is the height of arrogance to look down on someone for having a different understanding.

Exactly. The more sincere among them--and Obama at his most idealistic is probably sincere in this way--are internationalists. They look at the human being and abstract only what is universal, the unmodified homo sapiens. They do not appreciate that a person's particularity, his or her belonging to a nation and patriotic to the nation's sovereignty, is just as essential.

Obama is certainly "human" enough, but he will never understand what it means to be an American, to value self-reliance, the objective law of the Constitution, and the checks and balances unique to our system of government.

Contrast with this - Here is Barry in 1995 - from a TV show where he talked about his book. Here he lauds Rev. Wright.

To me, it is a telling contrast. Barry is the same then as now - polished, sophisticated, carefully laying out his groundwork, and somehow not really real. The Palins - really REALLY real people, complete with snow, gum, God, and a baby.

Chomsky's linguistic credentials are overstated. His most lauded accomplishments in his field were short lived, and have been largely debunked. He was touted as being revolutionary, and his work was going to be a gamechanger in the way we looked at language. Not so much.

He is no doubt a very intelligent man, but he isn't on the order of many others still living and breathing scholars and scientists making breakthroughs.

In the fullness of time, when scholars in Chomsky's field, and Communist pining fools look for inspiration from their predecessors, only the latter group will find any.

Completely accurate. The most surprising thing I found out about them in my reading was to find out that the modern left has its roots in very puritanical religious groups that wanted more control over their people, so they created communes.

Would seeing something like this, a "meeting" between these leftist assholes, and someone who has vowed to wipe Israel off the map, is this enough to convince them?
Please tell me, please tell me there are some whose liberalism has not blinded them, so they are unable to see the flash point of the detonation this bastard looks to unleash against their brothers and sisters.

IMO the disgusting spectacle you have seen is not a Jewish phenomenon or even a Democratic one, it is rather a psycho/sociological one - there are quite a few isolationist, gutless, self-hating cowards in every society, including America. Code Pink members embody the very essence of that which Ahmadinejad seeks to eliminate in his own country. He is a misogynistic, homophobic religious fanatic. How women, or gay women, or liberals or any American can meet with this psychopath lies in religious nature of liberalism.
