Geert Wilders: 'No Racist Organizations Allowed'

World | Fri, Oct 3, 2008 at 1:31:09 pm PDT

There’s at least one anti-jihad politician in Europe who refuses to join forces with fascists and white nationalists: Geert Wilders.

(IsraelNN.com) Dutch legislator Geert Wilders, producer of the movie Fitna exposing the Koran’s incitement to violence, announced that a “Facing Jihad Conference” will take place in Jerusalem in December. “We are organizing this event in Israel to emphasize the fact that we are all in the same boat together,” he said in a speech in New York.

Wilders’ 15-minute film earlier this year set off violent protests in Muslim countries because of the description of the Muslim prophet Mohammed as a murderer. He is teaming up with Knesset Member Prof. Aryeh Eldad (National Union) for the Jerusalem convention, where he vowed “no racist organizations will be allowed.”

And he will be attacked from all sides for it. The Islamists will claim he's just hiding it; the VB crowd will attack him for not doing more to protect Europe against the Islamists. He's fighting the good fight.

28 godfrey  Fri, Oct 3, 2008 1:43:15pm

Preach it, Geert!

He said that "Israel is our first line of defense [but] the war against Israel is not a war against Israel. It is a war against the West. It is jihad. Israel is simply receiving the blows that are meant for all of us. If there would have been no Israel, Islamic imperialism would have found other venues to release its energy and its desire for conquest. Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming."

Damn straight.

29 Sharmuta  Fri, Oct 3, 2008 1:43:23pm
He views the Muslim religion as a base for extremism. "The Koran calls for hatred, violence, submission, murder, and terrorism," he said in his speech at the Four Seasons Hotel. "Let no one fool you about Islam being a religion. Sure, it has a god, and a hereafter, and 72 virgins. But in its essence Islam is a political ideology…. If you want to compare Islam to anything, compare it to communism or national socialism, these are all totalitarian ideologies… Now you know why Winston Churchill called Islam 'the most retrograde force in the world' and why he compared Mein Kampf to the Koran."

Exactly right, Mr. Wilders. Those who would ally with fascists to defeat islamism have it exactly backwards. We do not defeat totalitarianism by replacing it with more of the same.

That ain't the half of it. You got some folks (mohammedans against sharia comes to mind immediately) who want to take a BoxCutter blade to the koran and excise all the offending passages. What will they have left? Not much. Logic and reasoning plays no part in this. I understand where he's coming from, but you are correct - Banning books is really not a good idea.

The anti Semitcism goes all the way back to Khalid the Mercant who morphed into Mohammad the wild & crazy Prophet.
He was shunned by a camp of Jews who wisely thought that he was bad company. Worse, they refused to convert.
Muslims today hate Jews & many are not exactly sure why. Just lots of talking points.

I wanted to quote this again because I think Mr. Wilders is exactly right. To me, this is not so much a religious war as it is a war of ideologies. You simply cannot separate islam from politics. It's a fascist movement in the disguise of a religion. We cannot defeat a fascist movement by fighting it with a fascist movement. The only way to counter it is to defend and promote individual rights.

Islam is so obviously phony, with "Allah" miraculously always pronouncing that the decisions Mohammed made were "Allah"'s will.

Unfortunately, telling somebody their religion is wrong will not cause a false death cult to cease to be. One can only hope that the preponderance of evidence and exposure to the real world will eventually convince the adherents that their 7th Century founder was a charlatan at some point without untold millions having to die.

That's right. It's a mindset and mindsets can change. We can't allow our societies to become self-perpetuating Sharia courts or there will be nothing left to help them to change their minds.

77 Pawn of the Oppressor  Fri, Oct 3, 2008 2:06:41pm

I just think it's funny that the whole thing was cribbed from the Jews. It's a half-assed amalgamation of barely understood Judaism with self-serving desert tribal warrior nonsense. It's like a Jewish guy hanging out with Mohammed one night tried to explain Judiasm to him, except Mohammed was drunk at the time, got a bunch of stuff wrong, and then the next morning (after the hangover wore off), figured he could make money doing his own thing a la L. Ron Hubbard. The epilepsy didn't hurt.

In my Saudi-funded high school class "Cultural Geography", there was absolutely no mention made of the connection between Judaism and Islam. None. Not even a hint. Only later do I read from genuine scholars that Islam and Christianity can both be considered offshoots of Judaism. That's obvious about Christianity, but they really bury that fact about Islam.

Hmm... I wonder why

Pessimists are horrible for morale. Ask any veteran. One of the things people really like about Sarah Palin is her irrepressible optimism and cheerfulness. But I disagree with him. Perhaps it's because I've known immigrants to be hard working contributors to my society, perhaps it's because I've worked with people of all sorts of backgrounds and ethnicities and found them to be not so very different than I. Perhaps it's because he see skin color as an issue and I see character as being the important factor. He fails to see this as an ideological battle, and that's why he'll remain fringe while those of us who want nothing to do with his ilk we carry on and make a difference.

Yes, go see it this weekend (opening weekend). It needs to have good numbers, to convince investors to fund more conservative films.

I'm going.

Islam is so obviously phony, with "Allah" miraculously always pronouncing that the decisions Mohammed made were "Allah"'s will.

Indeed, even his child bride had his number:

Muhammad may go to his wives in any order he chooses, and may postpone the turn of any of them if he wishes (v. 51). When this verse was revealed, Aisha said acidly to Muhammad: “I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your wishes and desires.”

Just how stupid have you got to be to believe the deranged ramblings of an illterate psycopath, it just beggars belief.

re: #90 Sharmuta

Well said, Shar.

I couldn't agree more. I grew up with people whose families were from various different countries. I've had friends from all over the place and so have my husband and daughter. One of the main reasons my husband and I chose to raise our daughter in Toronto was because it is so multi-racial and multicultural (I know that's a bad word to some but it can be a good thing, too). We wanted her to grow up judging people by their characters and not by their physical appearance, clothing, accent, etc.

Years ago, a co-worker who was originally from another country told me she liked me because I treated everyone the same. I've never forgotten it, not because it was a compliment but because I was so shocked that not everyone was the same way.

(I'm a cynical idealist, an optimist in spite of my pessimism.)

The thing about Islam that the enablers do not accept, is that it is founded on the delusions of a psychopathic , pedophile.
In its present form , it can't be shoe horned into a modern society.

Analysis: Stable Iraq could influence Mideast

Gee, d'ya think?

BAGHDAD - As violence in Iraq recedes, neighboring states are pondering how to deal with an unwieldy country that could re-emerge as a key player along with Saudi Arabia and Iran in one of the world's most strategic regions.

Still, countries of the Middle East cannot ignore the potential role of a resurgent Iraq, a nation of 28 million people, bordering Iran to the east, Syria and Jordan to the west and sitting on one of the world's major pools of oil.

For those reasons, the United States cannot afford to lose focus on Iraq, which will remain a strategic and important country even after the last of the 140,000 American soldiers have gone home.

Iraq is likely to play a significant role in America's Middle East policy for decades — even as the Pentagon scales down military operations here and ramps them up in Afghanistan.

Wow. Break out your very best flying pig folks... AP has just endorsed the cornerstone of the Bush administration foreign policy!

Nice try Geert. But under President and "dear leader" Obama America will understand Islam poses no threat whatsoever and the nation needs to re-orient itself to accepting radical, limiting womens' rights, and honor-killing diversity as a measure of our openness and fairness. As well as withdraw from the world, for our safety of course.

Good evening, Lizards.

I need some good thoughts.

Our dog was not herself yesterday, so I took her to the vet this morning. X-ray showed two inoperable masses.

My mom, boys, and I said goodbye at 4:30, and the boys stayed with her as she slipped away.

As you know, I'm a "cat person," but she was a terrific dog. Losing her is also closing a door on the memories of the past 10 years, and it's so hard.

Interesting. The last time I visited their disreputable site, a year ago, the Baron swore he was in no way racist, that his followers were organizing against the jihad and that's why they were anti-foreigner. I pointed out the contradiction: not all jihadis are foreigners and not all foreigners are jihadists. As a citizen of Toronto, I know this from my daily life. As a man with 8 nationalities and 3 races in my family history I know it personally. I do not define "my kind" of person, as Baron does, in racial or ethnic or religious terms. I define "my kind" as anyone who shares my convictions as a citizen of a free and democratic society. They were not interested in debating those points and I knew from then they were nothing more than racists attempting to co-opt the anti-jihad movement to advance their sick ideology. Charles is right and courageous to take the firm stand he has.

What was so weird about all that was that Biden chose Fwance. I mean, when was the last time the French military kicked anybody's ass? And they're not even a member of NATO. Some foreign policy expert he is.

France is a founding member but spent 50 years making us sorry she was. DeGaulle withdrew from the unified command structure, but not from the treaty and its obligations to respond, and kicked Nato HQ and troops off French soil. Sarkozy is moving to reintegrate with Nato military. Partly that is to turn Nato into the EU defense force with an American guarantee but Europeans calling the shots.

Banning books never works. It's the old "forbidden fruit" principle at work. Partisans of the book's philosophy will simply say, "See, it's such powerful stuff that they banned it."

Banning possession of the koran would be like banning handguns; totally useless, since there's a zillion of 'em out there, anyway. But what we could do is outlaw the misuse of korans in preaching, just as the misuse of firearms to commit assault or murder is outlawed.

In other words: monitor the mosques, and if an imam is preaching the hateful passages from the koran without stressing that they are hateful and should be disregarded, then swoop down upon them and throw their sorry asses in jail.

Golly, yoch, I love you, man, but your writing style is just a tad telegraphic. AFAIK, Charles doesn't charge for caps or punctuation marks. :>)

In other words: monitor the mosques, and if an imam is preaching the hateful passages from the koran without stressing that they are hateful and should be disregarded, then swoop down upon them and throw their sorry asses in jail.

You'd have to have agents in the mosques too to prevent them from hosting the jihadi groups in private venues.

re: #198 goddessoftheclassroom

Good evening, Lizards.

I need some good thoughts.

Our dog was not herself yesterday, so I took her to the vet this morning. X-ray showed two inoperable masses.

My mom, boys, and I said goodbye at 4:30, and the boys stayed with her as she slipped away.

As you know, I'm a "cat person," but she was a terrific dog. Losing her is also closing a door on the memories of the past 10 years, and it's so hard.

((Goddess)) My most sincere condolences goddess. I had a pit-bull that lived 17 years (yes 17 people years). She was a very intelligent and loving dog. A genuine member of our family. I couldn't believe how much it broke my heart when she finally passed away. I wish I could say something to comfort you.

re: #255 Alberta Oil Peon

All good points, but...

The only way to disregard Scripture is to "put it in context". The Bible has ugly stuff in it (which was heavily mined by the Qur'an, incidentally); Jews and Christians say that the ugly stuff referred to a different time and/or are not literal fact.

Unlike the Bible, though, the Qur'an doesn't make sense. It is made sense of by means of hadith, particularly hadith attached to the Sira, which were concocted specifically to provide "asbab an-nuzul" ("occasions of revelation" ie context) for various "qur'anic" verses.

So you are asking the imams to act like Baruch Spinoza from the pulpit.

The way I see it, if you don't mind me jumping in here, is that you can't be ethnically British.

You can be ethnically English.

Brits of Pakistani descent are 100% British, but they are not English, they are Pakistani.

If I lived in Pakistan for 100 years, I still wouldn't be Pakistani, though I might have Pakistani citizenship.

No, you could easily be Pakistani. Pakistan is a geographical expression just like Britain. There was no such thing as a "Pakistani" in, say, 1900. Lots of Muslims from all over India and even Burma ended up in Pakistan after independence.

What you couldn't be is Pashtun...

re: #77 Pawn of the Oppressor

To Ibn Warraq the Qur'an looked like an offshoot of a Samaritanism, concentrating on the Torah and Moses above all else.

To me the Qur'an looks like what I'll call "whig Judaism". It's a Deuteronomy / Judges reading of the Torah; where the prophet speaks for God, and then commands God's host in battle, and ultimately administers God's state. But even the Deuteronomistic History pulls itself back from that last step (1 Samuel 8,10:17–27).

The stuff about Mary and Jesus in the Qur'an is clearly tacked-on. The Qur'an tries to turn Jesus into a "last prophet for the Jews", which (correct me if I'm wrong) sounds like an insult to Jews and Christians both.

"Wilders would be more effective if he tempered his rhetoric a little. Calling for banning the Koran, for example, really rubs a lot of people the wrong way. Criticize it, yes, but banning books never ends well."

I could not have agreed more, banning books never ends well.

At the same time; Naser Khader is forming a secret anti-islamistic organisation; saying Geert Wilders is not welcome..

This leaves me with a few questions:

1) Who does Wilders mean by "racist organizations"? (Hopefully, he means the same people I mean, when I use that term)

2) If he includes the Vlaams Belang among the group of racist organizations, will he be considered persona non grata (as I now am)

3) will Pamela Geller write ridiculous comments and posts condemning Wilders, and will Pamela once again go on a rant that proves she doesn't know the difference between Nationalism, and Ethnic Nationalism?

re: #149 Irene NYC

What was so weird about all that was that Biden chose Fwance. I mean, when was the last time the French military kicked anybody's ass? And they're not even a member of NATO. Some foreign policy expert he is.

Well, the only thing that comes to mind was a naval battle. It was a valiant struggle and eventual victory for the French people, in '85.

Although, I really think that they should have tried diplomacy and UN resolutions in addressing the legitimate claims of the terrorist organization Greenpeace before a French military intervention was necessary...

I could not have agreed more, banning books never ends well.

Wilder's stance comes from a place in which hate speech, including blogs, books, etc, are already banned. Book banning and stifling of free speech has already been entrenched in much of European politics, including the Netherlands.

I, of course believe in completely unfettered free speech, but that isn't even on the table. Bloggers have gotten prison sentences in Europe, and Europeans at large still content that they have full freedom of speech. Not banning books, and unfettered freedom of speech that we enjoy in the US, is not on the table.

As it stands, because of this, there is a horrible double standard. All hate speech coming from Muslims that stem for their religion, and their religious scriptures, is exempted. Criticising Muslims, and Islam in general, puts you on thin ice in many European countries, and is actually potentially illegal depending on your specific rhetoric used in that criticism.

Calling for the death of particular ethnic groups, countries and religions, as long as its done in the Mosque, is apparently fine.

I hope the conference lays the groundwork for action against Jihad. Or a new tyranny may be the result.

"Everything has a life-- the good and the bad. The lifetime of tyranny is usually shorter.

The terror and brutality of the Khmer Rouge lasted 4 years and 8 months, from 1975-1979. The hard core consisted of expatriates that had studied in France. More than 2 million people were killed “pour créer l“homme pur“.

You just made my point. Wilders' suggestion is not about banning, but about drawing a parallel with a book that is actually banned. No one in Holland, except for Wilders' detractors of course, takes it as a call for banning physical copies of a book that can be downloaded from the internet in seconds.

Maybe less hair jokes and more constructive proposals to counter jihad and radical islam would be more helpful.

275 Twenglish  Sat, Oct 4, 2008 1:40:50am

Exactly Charles ,

Geert Wilders is also being demonized by the both the Left, the Islamofascists and the Fascists throughout Europe .

This man is actually a Dutch Patriot , He sees what is taking place in his own country and throughout Europe and when he says something about it everyone gets on hs case and the .

It shows that apathy has grown to such extents in Europe that Patriots practically don't exist , and wherever they do they are an endangered species

The Police were searching his offices this week , according to them, they thought there was a bomb , there was no bomb of course , but only goes to prove that Wilders life is in constant danger

This is what will happen in America if we don't wake up now ,
American Patriots will become the hunted , while the fascists and the loons become the norm .

Don't allow it to happen !

I've found nothing on the web that puts Wilders together with the Vlaams Belang, the National Front, the FPO, the BNP, or any other neo-fascist group.

But if I do discover that he's collaborating with them, I'll drop my support for Wilders.

277 RossM3838  Sat, Oct 4, 2008 6:58:20pm

The main stream parties in Europe have really dropped the ball. Their weakness is very disconcerting. They have opened a huge door for the far right and fascists to stride right in. Its a tragedy in the making but its their own fault. It is good to finally see a mainstream politician step forward, but it may be far too little far too late.

re: #276 Charles

He repeatedly said in Dutch media that he absolutely does not want to be affiliated with Vlaams Belang or any other fascist party. Filip de Winter and others already approached him a few times but he consequently rejects their offers to meet.

Besides that Geert has very good ties with the Jewish community (for obvious reasons) and his heart is defending the country's identity and minimizing the threat of radical islam and the infinite influx of immigrants and fortune seekers.
