Morocco can be a bit much as well. I was there for 3 weeks and was emotionally exhausted by the time I left. People there are so poor and eager for tourist money that I would hire a guide for the day just to keep the other guides away. One day I was walking down a back alley which ended up being the women's entrance to a mosque. A woman gave me a hand gesture that I dubbed "the Moroccan finger wag". Even in her burka I could tell I was pissing her off. I adopted the gesture whenever people were bothering me and it worked like a charm! Even the Peace Corps people I was traveling with were very happy to learn the gesture.

I have/had people that I work with (US citizens, along with Indian citizens that are there right now).
