Video: Palestinians Rally for Kidnapping and Terrorism

World | Mon, Dec 15, 2008 at 8:16:48 am PST

Yesterday, tens of thousands of terrorist supporters held an outdoor rally in Gaza, at which a Palestinian dressed up as kidnapped Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit and paraded around on stage, saying in Hebrew that he “missed his parents.” Debased beyond belief.

Charles,
I had left the Shoe Thread when you replied to me.
I know Secret Service people, they are true professionals but the constraints on them operating in a place like that mean it is always a matter of risk and percentages. Most people couldn't handle the strain and responsibility that USSS deal with. To Bush's credit he has remained graceful and not retreated into a prison. I would be very surprised if they actually had a dog closely inspect everyone going into that room, Islamic sensibilities. Metal detectors do not find explosives, or many other things for that matter. This is a subject that I can claim professional expertise on. We were lucky.

Yes - seeking Israel's destruction, helped along by Israel itself.

These soulless thugs are suposed to be 'worthy allies'?
What makes the anti-Israel Left think that these thugs will keep one single treaty, one single promise?

I wouldn't mind if the moonbats for once had a terrible awakening, but as this would be for the price of the annihilation of Israel, I cannot wish for that.

OT, Pakistan Diverts $3.8 billion US Dollars to Fight INDIA, not Extremists

".... Bush administration and military officials said they believed that much of the American money was not making its way to frontline Pakistani units. Money has been diverted to help finance weapons systems designed to counter India, not Al Qaeda or the Taliban, the officials said, adding that the United States has paid tens of millions of dollars in inflated Pakistani reimbursement claims for fuel, ammunition and other costs.

Gilad Schalit is a low level soldier who was protecting his country when kidnapped. That HAMAS would put this as one of their great accomplishments is really sorry. Of course, if anything happens to Schalit, HAMAS will be HAMASing in their pants from what comes next from the IDF.

61 lawhawk  Mon, Dec 15, 2008 8:36:35am

For those who aren't completely familiar with Gilad Shalit, he was captured by Hamas thugs when they invaded Israel with the express intention to capture and kill Israeli soldiers to be used as pawns to demand Israel release hundreds of terrorists from Israeli jails. Two other Israelis were murdered by the Hamas terrorists when they captured Shalit while he was on patrol in Israel. He's been held by these terrorists for more than two years, and for all the talk about how Israel should release Palestinians as a humanitarian gesture, no one bothers to make the same demands of the Hamas thugs.

No one expects Hamas to provide a humanitarian gesture.

I certainly don't expect Shalit to be returned to his family alive.

The deal to release Shalit remains as it has always been - demand Israel release hundreds of terrorists in exchange for Shalit.

Of course, Israel would then face the situation where more Israeli soldiers would face being captured in order to secure similar deals. Israel's feckless leaders continue to negotiate with Hamas as though this will somehow improve Israel's security or bring comfort to the Shalit family. It will do no such thing and the sorrow felt by the Shalit's will be compounded by the fact that more Israeli families will get the call from the authorities that their loved ones were killed or captured by Hamas or other terrorists in order to seek Israel's capitulation through breaking its will to exist.

It only works when the death cult is aimed directly at jews.

The sight of jews defending themselves is grotesque to most of the world. So every defensive action is an attack.

The best evidence is the security fence. Every nation the world has the right to build a fence on their border, and many do. Only for jews is it considered a crime.

If Israel wanted to speak to them in a language they understand, they would start executing their prisoners until Shalit is released.

They should, if only to make sure this never happens again. Their history of exchanging prisoners for tortured dead bodies is what has emboldened these barbarians to continue the practice.

Just know that no matter what happens, Gilad Schalit will never be returned to his family alive.

I would do to Gaza what I would have done to Fallujah. Line up 500 artillery tubes wheel to wheel at the Northern edge and eat my way South-West going one sixteenth of a mile each day. I'd evacuate the small Christian community and a few others, maybe 2,000 tops but otherwise would allow the people to evacuate to Egypt but not allow anything on two legs to escape into Israel. Maybe there would be a decision by the Arabs to make Peace.

lawhawk, that's an excellent account of the situation, the only way to get Shalit home, if he is still alive (which I doubt sincerely) is to gather intelligence to where he is held and send in a commando freeing him.

The Palis almost certainly have one man with an AK standing near him at all times. His only job is to shoot Galid dead if anyone attempts a rescue. That was the procedure for Terry Anderson in the 80s. It was reported that Osama Bin Laden had a fellow with him, to shoot OBL dead if a snatch was attempted. Brother! Believe in Death, do ya now?!

And, since the time of John Locke, people who commit a crime while in a delusional state do not face criminal charges...they're not held criminally responsible for how they behave -- as it should be. OTOH, psychopaths are NOT "mentally ill" -- it's not classified as a "mental illness" -- psychopathy is a personality disorder. And psychopaths are not "delusional" -- they know what they're doing -- hence, if psychopaths commit a crime, they face criminal charges...)

Remember that these are the people on whose behalf Obama campaign advisor Samantha Power recommended that the US invade Israel, in order to force Israel to "give them a state."

Remember that Samantha Power was let go from the Obama campaign only because she was caught calling Hillary Clinton "a monster"--and that she is currently under consideration for a diplomatic post which would necessitate her working closely with, if not under, that "monster."

Remember that Obama grew up and reached political consciousness during the time that the civil rights movement had fallen under the sway of separatists, pro-Islamists, and Marxists who were sympathetic to the PLO, and opposed to the existence of Israel, from before the 1967 war--in other words, before there were any "territories" and the PLO advocated Israel's destruction openly, rather than circumspectly as it has now learned to do.

Well, you've convinced me; I'm not voting for Obama.

No, no, no. Mental illness (that is, true mental illness -- that's with delusional, psychotic behavior -- is NOT "evil" -- a psychotic person has zero control over his/her behavior -- that's mental illness.

If we have a group psychosis then the problem is how to get members to separate their identity form the mass in which it has become subsumed. That takes a severe shock if it is to work at all. Once an individual has submitted to a Totalitarian identity they carry it around within them. Most can never be freed from its grasp to assume healthy independent activity.

Obama's current approval rating is also more than 50 points higher than President Bush's current approval rating, which now stands at 28 percent --- with 71 percent disapproving of the way Bush is handling his job as president.

"An Obama job approval rating of 79 percent -- that's the sort of rating you see when the public rallies around a leader after a national disaster," said Bill Schneider, CNN's senior political analyst. "To many Americans, the Bush administration was a national disaster."

Is there such a thing as "group psychosis"?

Been a while since my Social Psychology class but I believe the answer is yes. When I studied Chinese communism the concept we used was "Totalism" as an extreme form of Totalitarianism, the idea was to completely eliminate the area of individual identity and subsume it within the group identity. The group is then subservient to a messianic Leader. When someone becomes linked to such a group they carry it within them for years after, like Saruman's voice.

Now their faces captured in the lenses of the jackals for gold.
Ill be there
Ill be there
I will be there.

Suffering in silence, theyve all been betrayed.
They hurt them and they beat them, in a terrible way,
Praying for survival at the end of the day.
There is no compassion for those who stay.
Ill be there
Ill be there
I will be there.

There must be someone who can set them free:
To take their sorrow from this odyssey
To help the helpless and the refugee
To protect whats left of humanity.
Cant you see
Cant you see
Cant you see.

Ill be there
Ill be there
I will be there;
To heal their sorrow
To beg and borrow
Fight tommorow.

Oh Brother... Another Obama Team Member Investigated for Corruption

A federal grand jury is investigating how a company that advised Jefferson County, Alabama, on bond deals that threaten to cause the biggest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history, did similar work in New Mexico after making contributions to Governor Bill Richardson’s political action committees.

The grand jury in Albuquerque is looking into Beverly Hills, California-based CDR Financial Products Inc., which received almost $1.5 million in fees from the New Mexico Finance Authority in 2004 after donating $100,000 to Richardson’s efforts to register Hispanic and American Indian voters and pay for expenses at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, people familiar with the matter said.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation asked current and former officials from the state agency if any staff members in the governor’s office influenced CDR’s hiring, said the people, who declined to be identified because the proceedings are secret. Richardson, who is President-elect Barack Obama’s designate for Commerce Secretary, has a staff of at least 30 people.

Similarly, cases of clear "honour" killing (Islamicide?) are purported to be generic domestic violence cases, also having nothing to do with Islam. Again, barbaric sharia-inspired terrorism and murder is also supposed to have nothing to do with Islam.

I am utterly amazed at the obliviousness of America's black population.
When will they see?

The worst thing Obama could do for the USA and for the American military would be to send them into a charnel house like the Congo. It's why I fear he will do just that.

It will bankrupt our nation and get tens of thousands of our young military people killed, for absolutely no benefit.

Bush has pumped billions upon billions of dollars into Africa, and it hasn't improved anything. As a matter of fact, Africa is in arguably worse shape than it was when Clinton left office.

No military intervention in Africa.....but I really think Obama will do it....for the women and children, of course.

One of favorites....

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

I know this. Where it difficult here in the US, is that our legal system attempts to hedge the mental illness for a lesser sentencing....or in attempt to get the charges dismissed altogether. Have the person placed in a mental institution instead. That the mental illness is thus not fully responsible and it becomes "detached " from the person who has committed the crime.

Thoughts on this?

This is exactly what you would expect from a culture that defines itself as a "victim" and has steeped itself in that nonsense for generations. The Israelis are simply the latest designated "oppressor" that is held up as an excuse for why these losers can't get their own shit together. Before the Israelis had this job, the Ottomans were held up as the great Boogeyman. The British promised the Arabs in what was then Palestine that they would liberate them in exchange for help defeating the Sick Man of Europe, a.k.a. the Ottoman Empire, during WW-I. The Allies won, the brits took over Palestine, and promptly ignored their promises. That was all she wrote until after WW-II when Jews began flooding into the region. The Arabs and the Jews, being such close friends, quickly began fighting and killing each other, and the British washed their hands of the whole situation via the UN.

It was at this point that the Arabs pissed away their very best chance at having their own nation in the region by having the stupidity to wage all out war on the Jews. But then what else would you expect from ignorant inbred barbarian asshats?

The Arabs are the victims here: of their own stupidity, incompetence, and general loser-ness.

These people remind me of that Despair.com poster that reads: "It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others."

If it were not for the fact that Israel was founded by the survivors of an attempted genocide, the Arabs in the region would have been dealt with a very long time ago. Terrorist attacks would be responded to with carpet bombings. The Israelis are just too nice for their own good.

You mean when it comes time for sentencing the "mitigating" factor would be mental illness (therefore a reduced sentence)? In Canada, I've heard that no defense attorney would ever advise a client to claim he/she was insane at the time the crime was committed...and the reason is that if the judge/jury should decide that the defendant is guilty, but insane -- the person would be locked up in a mental institution, and studies indicate that those deemed criminally insane never, ever get released...(it's the equivalent of a life sentence without parole).

The Blame Bush for making Gay Marriage difficult is pathological. There is no doubt that there have been more Gay marriages in the USA in the past 8 years than any other time in history.

Awareness of the Gay Marriage issues is higher than any other time in history.

However like every other candidate for POTUS, he feels marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman.

Every other candidate, including OBAMA:

"I'm a Christian. And so, although I try not to have my religious beliefs dominate or determine my political views on this issue, I do believe that tradition, and my religious beliefs say that marriage is something sanctified between a man and a woman."

During the past 8 years there have been more gay marriages, more money
spent on helping people with AIDS (world wide, not just in the USA). In fact every Gay Issue has advanced in the past 8 years.

Blame Bush? Sullivan should be thanking him.

My Wish:

To: "Palestine"
From: Bibi

Subject: The Grown-Up World (An Offer You Should Not Refuse)

Now that I am in charge we are going to adopt what is simply described as "The Grown-Up Approach" to Israeli security. The new approach is based upon the following grown-up principles:
1) Within the bounds of reason, "Live and Let Live" is desirable.
2) Sovereign nations faced with existential threats will oppose those threats.
3) Asymmetric warfare is still warfare.
4) Wars end prior to total annihilation only when one side firmly realizes that the disadvantages of further violence significantly outweigh the advantages.
5) So-called "proportionate" responses to asymmetric warfare do not encourage the realization in 4) above.

Therefore, "The Grown-Up Approach" to Israeli security is as follows:
1) Israel agrees to the establishment of a sovereign state of Palestine (with all appropriate rights and responsibilities) consisting of the area commonly known as The Gaza Strip plus any other portions of the nations of Egypt, Jordan and Syria devoted to such purpose by those nations.
2) The Golan is not negotiable. (See principle 2) above)
3) Until such time as the state of Palestine is created Israel shall respond to the existing asymmetrical threat to its existence by disproportionately encouraging the realization in principle 4) above.

Your cooperation is appreciated. Sincerely, Bibi

Wrenchwrench got zapped too for the same reason. No apology from ploome hineni for posting that racist crap in the first place, unfortunately.

Yeah, sorry about that, Stinky!

I understand the reasons for not doing what I am about to propose, so I am only half seriously saying this...

But

Here are thousands of terrorists and terrorist supporters, who have had the courtesy to show up, outside, in one place at the same time...

Is this not what napalm is for?

Walk with me a moment. After all of the endless whining that would come out of the European left, suppose Israel said "we don't care" and set the precident that Hamas rallies are legitimate targets... If all Israelis are "legitimate targets" because they might serve in the IDF, then surely those who are terrorists and open supporters of terrorism are legitimate...

Suppose in the aftermath, they held another rally - and Israel hit that too. Perhaps it would change the Pali perception that they can get away with anything.

Just saying...

Green is the new Barack.

Algore should be happy, they really took to the whole "go green" concept...

Let's give these sicko whackjobs a state, in the Holy Land, no less!

Every time I see this many people like them in one spot I am reminded of the proper use of a MOAB. Come on, you'd thin that herd of future suicide bombers in a major way. In addition, getting them to herd up like that again and act like fools would be hard to do.

I believe you have the freedom to be a terrorist, but we have the freedom to cut your career short.

re: #23 Timbre

They like the color green, right? So maybe if the United Nations planted a few hundred thousand pine trees in the Gaza Strip, the residents might calm down a little...

I used to work for Jewish National Fund--had many fun conversations with people who were fussy about where their plantatreeinisrael was going to be planted. People who would only plant a tree inside the Green Line. People who would only plant a tree outside the Green Line. People who would only plant a tree if we said we were planting trees in the PA. It got so I just wanted to send them a map, already, and they could draw a little tree right where they wanted it.

re: #124 Shug

But American gays, you just keep the focus on your true enemy : the mormon church and the Catholics and proposition 8. Pay no mind to the monsters in green who would see you all hang or thrown off a building.

Sorry, I gotta: But American Mormons and Catholics, pay no mind to the people who REALLY want to restrict your freedom of religion--pour the money into preventing Susie and Sally from getting married--because soccer moms getting married is MUCH scarier than international jihad.

Just to get some perspective here. ;)

re: #281 Golem Akbar

Can someone explain to me why, with civil unions, gays need "marriage?" In California, I understnd that civil unions have the same legal rights as does marriage. I'm sure that is true in other states with liberal state legislators.

Federal rights issues, social security, the ability to move state to state and retain rights, not to mention social recognition. My hetero marriage does not end at the California border.
