Breitbart “News” Tells Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to Get Lost
When Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced he was planning to meet with some representatives of Donald Trump and right wing media, to try to allay their fake outrage about Facebook “censoring” them, here was the reaction I posted on Twitter:
It’s just going to make it even worse. The way to handle these kinds of fake right wing outrages is to laugh at them, not humor them.

And sure enough, things are already getting weird, as Breitbart “News” tells Zuckerberg to take a hike.
On Monday afternoon Breitbart News, widely seen as the most pro-Trump news outlet of the election, said the social media company had reached out but declared it had “zero interest in a Facebook photo-op”.
Breitbart editors, which rely heavily on Facebook traffic for their articles, said they were more interested in Zuckerberg doing a live interview with their technology editor “on the topic of free speech and Facebook’s suppression of conservative media”.
Their “technology editor,” of course, is Milo Yiannopoulos, the guy who just wrote a lengthy screed promoting the white supremacists of the “alt-right.”
So the racist cretins of Breitbart “News” won’t be there, but he’s still going to meet with some verified loons — including bull goose loony Glenn Beck.
The Facebook CEO will meet on Wednesday at his Silicon Valley headquarters with one of Trump’s senior advisers, Barry Bennett, along with several influential conservatives including Glenn Beck, thinktank leaders, a Fox News host and a Republican digital media operative.
You can just see that train wreck comin’. It’s comin’ round the bend.
If nothing else, maybe Mark Zuckerberg (who definitely doesn’t seem like a naïve guy usually) will have his eyes fully opened to what’s really happening in right wing circles these days.
