invisible publishing
Savvy/sneaky web developers have known for a while about a little trick to get search engines to rank sites highly. Since many search engines (including Google) look for text on a page and extract keywords from that text, the trick is to have a paragraph full of keywords you want indexed—but set the color of the text to the same as the background so it’s invisible on the page. This lets you have an obnoxious, crass list of greedy search-engine-pimping keywords on your site without revealing to your visitors how craven you really are.
Now we have the first lawsuit springing from this trick. Why am I not surprised that it involves two astrology sites?
