Finding Iris Chang by Paula Kamen
Among other things, this book was informative on the risks of falling victim to conspiracy theories.
Iris Chang was the author most remembered for “The Rape of Nanking”. She suffered from bi-polar disorder and eventually ended her life at the age of 36. Paula Kamen, her long-time friend and colleague investigated her death and produced a thoughtful and informative book that is not a “dry” read. It is not just a chronicle of changes life. While maintaing a professional detachment, she delves into the many aspects of Chang’s life from WWII history to mental illness and, yes, conspiracy theories in a thorough and concise manner.
I am amazed at how relevant I found this book. It has given me a lot to ponder.
