War Of The Words
President Obama has proven to be a master campaigner and speaker as he reads from his teleprompter. He’s learned the power of words and knows you can control the debate by getting your opponents to use your terminology.
In February 2008, Obama told the Wisconsin Democratic Party Dinner in Milwaukee: “Don’t tell me words don’t matter.” Indeed, a major part of his early efforts has been the altering of words and their meanings to the point we need one of those universal translators from the “Star Trek” films.
We give tax “cuts” to people who don’t pay taxes, spending is “investing,” wars are no longer wars but rather “overseas contingency operations” and the people who tried to kill Americans on and off the battlefield are not “enemy combatants.”
This is President Obama’s version of Orwellian Newspeak straight from his administration’s Ministry of Truth. In George Orwell’s novel “1984” it was the job of Winston Smith to rewrite documents and history in line with the current politically correct dogma. War is
