Obama:”We are resolved to halt the rise of privacy in that region,”
President Obama just talked briefly about yesterday’s rescue of Capt. Richard Phillips by Navy SEALs off the coast of Somalia.
“We are resolved to halt the rise of privacy in that region,” Obama said (he clearly meant to say piracy, not privacy). He said the United States must “continue to work with our partners to prevent future attacks” and be prepared to confront attacks when they arise.
Appearing at the Transportation Department to discuss his economic stimulus package, Obama said of Phillips, “His safety has been our principal concern.”
