Fund seeks photos of those listed on Vietnam wall
The Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund is beginning to gather photographs of each of the more than 58,000 men and women whose names are listed on the memorial wall in Washington.
Organizers said they plan to showcase pictures of fallen veterans on their birthdays in the future at the memorial’s planned education center. They are beginning a campaign to raise $85 million to build the center underground near the memorial.
The memorial fund is enlisting help from more than 1,600 FedEx Office stores across the country to allow friends and family to submit photos of veterans whose names are on the wall. The stores will provide free scanning services.
