It’s all in how you say it…

“And these programs that you mentioned — that Obama has going with Reid and Pelosi pushing them forward — are all entitlement programs built to make government our God. And that’s really what’s happening in this country is a violation of the First Commandment.”

Well it’s good thing this nation is a secular nation founded on secular principles, and not a Christian nation founded on Biblical principles, otherwise we’d all be in real trouble. Heh.

“We have become a country entrenched in idolatry, and that idolatry is the dependency upon our government.”

Shit. And here I thought I was supposed to be making false idols out of Brittney Spears’s ta-tas or Paris Hilton’s veej. Obviously I am doing this idolatry thing all wrong.

“We’re supposed to depend upon God for our protection and our provision and for our daily bread, not for our government.”

Damnit all! I am so confused. I thought I was supposed to depend on the sweat of my rugged, individualist brow for those things, and not any Welfare Deity.

Wait, maybe this great Welfare God is using the U.S. government to fulfill our dependency on Him. I have heard that He is supposed to work in mysterious ways.

Ay ay ay.

And this just seemed to be the battle that I needed to go to war with. And I need warriors to stand beside me. You know, this is a war of ideology, a war of thoughts and of faith.

[…]

…I think it is a calling that God has on my life….all of that to say that the Lord shows me daily where he wants me to walk.

[..]

We’re at war in this country – for our freedom, our culture, for our liberty, our Constitution, and we need a true, battle-tested, proven, Constitutional conservative to take out Harry Reid.

[…]

You know, when I talk about a war and a battle and soldiers we have to take up our…our cry for freedom. And we can do it right now at the battle box… I mean at the ballot box.

Right. What the world needs is one more jihad-loving nutcase who’s getting marching orders directly from God.

I hope this woman scares all the sane Nevadans to the polls in November.

I tell you what… I can’t stand Reid, but I would vote for him in a hot minute over Angle.

re: #6 Slumbering Behemoth

Heh, in comparison to Angle even the “let’s barter with chickens” lady begins to look appealing.

You know what? I wonder what Angle’s stance is on the casinos. AFAIK, most practicing Christians consider gambling morally wrong & sinful (though IIRC it isn’t specifically condemned in the Bible). I wish someone would ask her about that.

Optimism is so quaint and adorable.
