Adding to the anti-vaxer body count... What an awful way to die.

I think the CDC just released numbers saying that people are getting their kids vaccinated at a high rate. There was an outbreak in NY, and the parents all said that they had their kids vaccinated.

So, if everyone is telling the truth, then it's possible the disease might have mutated.

I think these vaccinations are only about 90% effective-meaning 9 out of 10 that are immunized one will reject it becoming fully susceptible. So the logic is the remaining 10% will need to rely on the "herd" to avoid exposure. When everyone is immunized that leads to eradication, but when that 90% safe group drops from the growing fringes then not only those that refuse vaccination become at-risk to exposure but also puts those that are non responsive to the vaccine in a precarious position as well. So get your kids vaccinated, so the kooks stop blaming the latinos (who suprisingly do a very well job at suppressing these types of preventable diseases through vaccinations; if you ever meet someone born in latin-america they will ALWAYS have a little circular scar on their should where they received their shots and subsequent boosters)

I hear what you're saying. The recent CDC release would imply that the anti-vaccers are not that effective--especially with all of the other information coming out about the causes of autism, none of which has anything to do with vaccinations.

I think I have a good list of science sites I regularly check--Science Digest, Scientific American, Discover Magazine.

I think the forces of reason have won this fight--or are damn close to winning.

The gal who cuts my hair is going to have her baby at the end of October. I told her "I hate to say it, but try to keep the baby at home as much as you can until she gets her pertussis vaccine." When PSA ads play on TV with the coughing infant, I want to climb the walls. These anti-vaxxers should be ashamed.
