This is part of the wingnut attack on abortion: talk about eugenics, claim its all about aborting balck babies. O'Keeffee did a failed sting on Planned Parenthoodth by calling them wih a donation only so long as it would be used to abort black people.

There could actually be something to those arguments if it was coming from groups with any legitimacy at all on race. [Link: www.thedailybeast.com...]

The argument ought to be about socioeconomic class and race.

Sadly, those are third rail issues.

More insanity.

Wait. Isn't that the dreaded 'race card'?

The GOP has been maxing out on it lately and denying the receipt when it shows up.

Indeed. I have a copy of a book that is a collection of essays published in the liberal journal Dissent where they analyze that the conditions of black America were worse in the late 1980s (when the essay was written) than in 1948, when segregation was routinely accepted. There's alot of different dynamics at play there and there's probably a good chance that the dynamics have changed from 1988 to now (especially with the decline of suburbs and gentrification of cities). None of those dynamics are at play in what Broun is saying because there's a pretty darn good chance that uplifting the black community or any community aside from his own is not what he's after.

Jezebel:
Meanwhile, Rep. Gwen Moore of Wisconsin showed yet another reason why it's important to elect women and people of color — the prospect of a bunch of old white guys standing around talking about black women's fertility and alleged genocide. After Rep. Paul Brown said (falsely) that clinics target neighborhoods where people of color live and that "more black babies are killed" by Planned Parenthood, Moore replied, "I know all about black babies. I've had three of them. I had the first one at the ripe old age of 18." She knows something else, too: Republicans' policies show "utter contempt for poor women and poor children."

Glad Moore did this. You know seldom ever have I heard Republicans advocate for programs that actually help young, poor, and unwed mothers out.
