Two things, I am sure the average military member does not care if his combat mate is gay or not. Secondly, I am sure there were members of the military that felt racial integration was wrong when Truman did it too. I Plus the militaries of our top allies, the British, Canadians, and the Israelis allow open gays and lesbians to serve. Why can’t ours? There are plenty of gay and lesbian citizens of this country who want to serve and be honest about who they are and people like Huckabee are basically saying screw you them and that’s wrong. Huckabee needs to realize this nation is based on secular not religious law. He has the right to feel homosexuality is immoral but he cannot use his religious beliefs to justify discrimination by the government towards gay and lesbian Americans.

According to Huckabee, currently a political analyst for Fox News, politicians should back out of the picture. “…I don’t think that these are decisions that politicians should make. These are decisions that soldiers should make,” he says emphatically. “And when the soldiers in the foxholes make the decisions, they choose something different — and we should listen to them.”

So, I take it Huckleberry doesn’t understand the concept of civilian control of the military. Why does Huckleberry hate the Founding Fathers?

Makes you wonder who he’ll go after next.

“Currently a political analyst for Fox News” should explain it all.

Isn’t it part of being a soldier that you do what your leaders — who are politicians and non-combat officers — tell you to do?

Perhaps Huckabee thinks soldiers should have collective bargaining rights.

“These are decisions that soldiers should make,” he says emphatically.

Be careful what decisions our soldiers might make. They might come out as a majority and say something like, “This is a chickenshit war and I’m tired of risking me and my buddy’s lives for a chickenshit war. The consensus in this foxhole is ‘we’re tired of this chickenshit war and we want to come home.’”

But I guess to Huckabilly the really important decisions, like whether fellow soldiers can be gay or not, is important enough to be left to the soldiers. The other stuff, not so much.

I’m more pissed off that these nutbags keep going over passed legislation when it’s already a done deal. DADT IS DEAD. GET THE FUCK OVER IT.

Healthcare

Civil Rights Act of 1964

Roe v Wade

The president keeps trying to move us into the future with new technology and new energy and these old farts keep going backwards.

How can any young person join the Republican party, I have no idea.
