He says it as if he imagines dictatorship as liberty and freedom, but he 'unfortunately' has to live in this oppressive, hell hole called democracy. Because damn-it, that's what those ignorant forefathers wanted, so our hands are tied. Poor guy. /

Fundies, socons, theocrats, and secessionists just can't hack it very well over here on the Left coast. They each melt down, incrementally, in their own little ways, and expose themselves for the useless POS they are.

Well Duncan, there's always Saudi Arabia.

But he's so hunky... And with a deep voice. Too bad he's a moron.

But let's face it. Most of us would love a Dem Dictatorship. Let's not kid ourselves. Points for honesty?

I dinged you because it made me laugh, but no freaking way would I want a Dem dictatorship. I suspect that's true of most others here as well.

I don't want any kind of dictatorship, I don't care who's in charge.

Huh? I would goddamn hate a Democrat dictatorship.

Why would you want one?

As if. As if the Dems could even hold themselves together even as a dictatorship. It is to laugh.

10 SanFranciscoZionist  Mon, Apr 18, 2011 2:22:00pm

No points for honesty. I don't want a dictatorship of Democrats, Republicans or the Greens. I like the system we got just fine.

11 Obdicut  Mon, Apr 18, 2011 2:22:31pm

I want the GOP to become a viable goddamn conservative party. I want them to be the party of "Just because it's new, doesn't mean it works", the party of "Maybe there's a reason we've been doing it this way", the party of "Spending money is not equivalent to fixing problems". You know, like conservatives, and not radicals.

That's what I want, if we have to have two parties. The Democrats as true progressives and the GOP as true conservatives.

12 BARACK THE VOTE  Mon, Apr 18, 2011 2:24:17pm

You can't have a functioning democracy without at least two viable political parties, and my greatest single complaint about the republican party is that its collapsed.

It seemed to me like a lot less crazy was milling about and coming to any real seriousness in Gov't when Dems controlled both houses and the presidency, no? I'm NOT saying I want carte blanche for the Dems;I think having both sides forces everyone to compromise in ways that having a one-sided gov't can not provide. OF COURSE I DON'T WANT A DICTATORSHIP.

Indicating you didn't mean that you'd love a Democratic Dictatorship.

It's really hard to read tone on the interwebs.

Not so. Huge spike in abortion clinic bombings and murders of providers.

My congressman.

sigh.

re: #13 RanchTooth

Well, they haven't impeached Obama yet. That was pretty damn crazy of the GOP.

19 RanchTooth  Mon, Apr 18, 2011 2:33:57pm

re: #16 iceweasel

What I meant by this was the actions of GOP politicians, at least at the Federal level (where the Legislative/Exec branches were Dem), would gain any sort of political traction. The crazy of the masses will never be extinguished. Sigh.

22 HappyWarrior  Mon, Apr 18, 2011 3:25:28pm

I wouldn't want a dictatorship of any kind. I'm a small letter democrat first and foremost and that's a principle I will always stick by.

What you really mean is that most of us would love a dictatorship by ourselves; because we all know in our hearts what is best for us and everyone else, don't we?

25 Kronocide  Mon, Apr 18, 2011 8:04:49pm
