Post Citizens United: Conservatives Rake in Huge $$ from Undisclosed Donors
Analysis by the Center for Responsive Politics shows that since the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, spending from anonymous conservative donors has been EIGHT TIMES what has come from liberal donors.
So next time some conservative friend assures you that Unions will take advantage of this just as much as corporations will, you are free to laugh your head off.
A few other tidbits:
The percentage of spending coming from groups that do not disclose their donors has risen from 1 percent to 47 percent since the 2006 midterm elections
Seventy-two percent of political advertising spending by outside groups in 2010 came from sources that were prohibited from spending money in 2006
