Why Drunks With Guns Shouldn’t go to Church
Delaware State Police have charged a 52-year-old Milton man with DUI and terroristic threatening after an incident that occurred around 12:30 Sunday afternoon at the Lewes Church of Christ in Milton.
Police were called to the church for reports of a man with a gun. When troopers arrived, they were told that Hipolito Melendez had just left in a tan Kia Optima. After a short chase, police arrested Melendez when he stopped at Pole Bridge Road and Hudson Road.
Police say the incident began when Melendez, who was believed to be intoxicated, entered the church and was bumped by an autistic parishioner
