The only thing suprising is that I haven't worn a wire to my local shiite mosque dt toronto and recorded them saying this and worse. These are people who regularly opine that the holocaust wasn't finished.

There is a fine line between identifying culprits and assuming some kind of communal, or joint, culpability. My conviction is that this line is drawn at the point where acknowledged leaders put these horrors into the official, legal/religious form of a fatwah. Once these homicidal thoughts cross from the pews to the pulpit, the entire community becomes responsible to taje a position on what is being said.

The Iranian mullah is saying nothing different than Hamas or other terror groups dedicated to Israel's destruction. They see children as legitimate targets since Israelis are required to serve in the military. So, killing 'em early prevents them from growing up and being capable of not only defending themselves, but taking the fight to the terrorists deep inside enemy territory.

It once again highlights the different rationales and calculus in play for the terrorists versus Israel's defensive postures.

Whilst I agree with what you have said, the issue here goes much deeper than a terrorist strategy of indiscriminate killing. A senior cleric has issued a religiously binding edict encouraging the slaughter of innocent children and differentiating between Jews and non-Jews. This is akin to, say, a member of the London Beth Din, or a senior rabbi on the Israeli Chief Rabbi's staff saying that Jews are required by halachic law to blow up Muslim or Christian children. Or a Cardinal issuing a ruling that Catholics are required by canonical law to massacre non-believers. Completely different order of magnitude.
