Gunmen take over procuratorate HQ in Yemeni capital: witness
Gunmen took over the procuratorate headquarters in Yemen’s capital Sanaa on Wednesday after they broke into the building earlier the day, witnesses said.
“Unidentified gunmen have stormed and occupied the building of procuratorate headquarters in downtown Sanaa,” one of the eyewitnesses told Xinhua.
The seized building of the Public Prosecutors is about 5 km to the west of Hassaba district, the center of pitched street battles between government forces and armed tribesmen loyal to the opposition tribal leader Sadiq al-Ahmar, whose fighters have occupied a number of government buildings since last week.
