1 122 Year Old Obama  Fri, Jun 17, 2011 11:49:56am

Are we sure he’s supposed to be a moderate? ‘Cause it sure ain’t lookin’ that way.

Oh geezus, not only has he gone fundamentalist evangelical pandering he’s also now going Libertarian ‘government helping people is immoral’ pandering.
I would be a lot more harsh on him if i hadn’t heard about poor Mitts unemployment woes.
There is nothing more pitiful than an unemployed multi-multi millionaire.

Well as AGW gets worse we will be getting hammered more and more, there will be many disasters, crop failures, droughts in some place and floods in others. Eventually disaster relief is going to become a very large drain on all the developed nations economy. (not to mention the cost of moving entire cities)

Still we can’t just write them off, people who worked hard in rural areas to have a home, a car, a life. Or do we just want to add them all to the ranks of the homeless? Lately the attitude on the ‘Christian Conservative Right’ has been “well if God smote you then you must have deserved it” completely ignoring that most of these disasters have happened in the very heart of the “Bible Belt.”

The people Romney are playing to would be singing a much different tune if it happened to them or to people they knew.

Uhh…that would be;

He is Moderate compared to the rest of the GOP, everything is relitive in politics.

Immoral seems to be a big buzzword. Now it’s “immoral” to help people who had the freaking sky rip their lives and houses to pieces? Another loon pops into bloom.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Mittens is a good man, and here he is just pandering to the fringe.

Every time you have an occasion to take something from the federal government and … send it back to the private sector, that’s even better.

Oh, fuck everything about this. Federal government has no business giving anything at all to the ‘private sector’. Let them make their own damn money.

I actually believe he is still a moderate. He just is one of those people who will lie out of his ass to pander to each and every constituency. You know, like a normal politician, but even worse.

Throughout the primary season, he will pander to the moronic far-right, sounding like he’s a combination of Glenn Beck and Michelle Bachmann. And if he somehow manages to make it to the general election, he’ll suddenly turn into the “left-leaning moderate” that all conservatives fear him to be, in order to pander to everyone else.

He is simply a snake. He’s essentially Newt Gingrich, without all the infidelity and corruption (as far as we know).

I’m sure the folks in Joplin appreciate his pandering, too.

I don’t. I think he’s a liar and an incredibly arrogant ass.

First he tries to make a “joke” about being unemployed when he’s sitting on $200 million. Paris Hilton is sitting on billions and doesn’t do a damned thing but waste air. I guess she’s unemployed too.

Now he’s riffing on Luap Nor and saying that disaster relief is immoral and doesn’t make sense. How soon before he says that people who can’t afford college, trade school, or grad school without loans shouldn’t go at all? It would fit right in with his entitled worldview. =P

Yeah, I don’t like it either. I just really want to believe in him.

Request permission to blatantly steal and appropriate this remark for my own uses; personal, private, or public.

There’s not much to believe in when a man worth $200 million thinks he can joke about being unemployed, or when he says that disaster relief is immoral.

Well, what you say here pretty much fits in with my original comment. He is a snake who will say a different thing to each and every constituency. But when it gets down to it, I think in office he would be the least right-wing of all current Republican hopefuls (which doesn’t say much, considering the idiots we’re talking about).

And I think the far-right recognizes that too, which is why they hate him (Go around the more right-wing blogs, and you’ll see them calling him a weasel and a snake). It’s a sad day when the candidate that is probably the most likely to have even a chance in the general election is a man who everyone knows is a lying snake. In the end, the Republicans will have to choose between a snake and a bunch of batshit crazy, borderline retarded loons. I think the loons come out ahead.

15 webevintage  Fri, Jun 17, 2011 5:02:47pm

This is just like is “being unemployed” remark.
I have a feeling that if Mittens only had one fucking house worth $80,000 that got blown away in a tornado along with the place he worked and his whole neighborhood he might been a bit more sympathetic.

I am sick. to. death. of these assholes.

16 moderatelyradicalliberal  Fri, Jun 17, 2011 5:30:29pm

Well, I guess Mittens doesn’t want to win Missouri or Michigan.

17 What, me worry?  Fri, Jun 17, 2011 5:36:17pm

If Mitt thinks we should privatize an agency like FEMA that’s responsible for coordinating and implementing disaster relief for 1000s which crosses states and local/state governments, than he’s no better than Ayn Rand. And in no way, in mind anyway, that you can call him a moderate. That’s an extreme position.

Honestly, dude, I don’t get what you see in him. He’s pandering to the worst elements of the right wing here. I doubt he would refuse federal disaster relief once in office but the fact he feels the need to pander to this crap says volumes not just about him but about his audience too. Would love to see how Mitt would feel if those he loved were impacted by a disaster like the one that occurred in Joplin.
