Mind of a Counter-Jihadi: Visualizing Anders Breivik’s ideology
Norwegian terrorist Anders Breivik left a long trace of comments at a site “document.no”.
They have been gathered, translated and put online at dougsaunders.net (h/t: CuriousLurker).
Reading through them one sees that the murderer was a typical counter-Jihadi semi-blogger, who is indistinguishable from posters at Atlas Shrugs or Gates of Vienna. He is a fan of Robert Spencer (Jihad Watch), Pamela Geller (Atlas Shrugs), Fjordman:
I feel it is important to create a pan-European platform for rhetoric / objectives / policy analysis / research of historical factors relevant to so and transfer this knowledge to every nation. It pan-Europeiske/US environment Robert Spencer , Fjordman, Atlas, Analekta + 50 other EU / U.S. bloggers (and Facebook groups) is the epicenteret for policy analysis and has been for some years.
It seems that he has been using his money to promote the “counter-Jihad” movement:
I ran the business a few years while I studied and earned a few million so I could finance a inntektsløs politically active life. I now use these funds to be able to work full time to further develop / promote the Vienna Academy (Vienna school of thought) that Fjordman, Bat Yeor, Spencer + many others have already contributed so much till.
He’s not your typical Nazi loser. He’s an intelligent, rich conservative in the mold of Jared Taylor.
Some of the comments are highly (if gruesomely) ironic (h/t: Obdicut):
I do not understand why cnn mention the extreme right and the National Socialists? I havenever ever heard of a right extreme or NS terrorist attacks of importance on European soil. Thissounds like kulturmarxistisk wishful thinking.
Some “counter-Jihadi” bloggers already took notice. Here’s what one of them writes (sorry, won’t link; h/t: slogan):
There is very little that he said that I would disagree with. It is clear that he is a Counterjihadist and visits the same sites that most of us do, Gates of Vienna, Jihadwatch, Atlas Shrugs, etc. He also follows political developments in Britain and reads the Telegraph and Daily Mail. The revelation of the Labour government’s conspiracy to flood the country with immigrants to “rub the right’s nose in diversity” was of great interest to him. I’m sure the bien-pensants in the British left will now want to reflect soberly on the folly of pushing people too far.
What emerges very clearly from the comments is that he harbours resentment against the mainstream media for pushing a culturally Marxist agenda and covering up Muslim wrong-doing and the negative effects of mass immigration and multiculturalism in Europe generally. This applies especially in Norway, where he felt that the politically correct agenda was completely unchallenged by the mainstream press. This may explain the attack on the VG newspaper’s offices. In some of the comments, he discussed setting up a Norwegian media organisation with a culturally conservative focus.
