Why do I have to go to a UK newspaper to get news about Wisconsin?

Maybe you should be looking for the story in the Wisconsin papers.

There was a report on this in the Milwaukee Journal over the past couple of days. On Thursday night (opening night) a group of unsupervised teenage hoodlums first started fights among themselves for whatever reason, then as the park was closing started attacking other fairgoers. On the surface, the later attacks appear to be race-related as known victims were white and the thugs were all African-Americans. About 30 arrests were made, and new rules for attendees of the fair were put into place, most notably no unsupervised minors under the age of 18, with ID checks in place.
There were no incidents on either Friday or Saturday.

I do have to commend you on not stooping to the Business Insider’s headline proclaiming it to be a “Race War”.

Apparently they’ve got Stormfront bloggers writing their news stories now.
(The blatantly white supremacist comments to the article - actually espousing the Neo-Nazi “American Third Position” don’t help matters either).

I did eventually find the local stories but am confused as to why this isn’t a national one… especially given the front-page coverage of the Tottenham riots.

I saw that race war bullshit too. And Stormfront was one of the first hits I got when Googling the story.

I’m just astounded at the lack of national coverage, especially given the front-page coverage the Tottenham riots have been getting.

The Daily Mail is the UK equivalent of Fox. It’s a real garbage paper and shouldn’t be used as a source for anything.

Like I said, if I’d found it at the NY Times or CNN, I’d have linked to that.

I did, however, find something at MSNBC.

MSNBC Video

Not sure why it’s under Minneapolis/St. Paul though.

The reason there’s little coverage is because it was no where near what the nutjobs want you to believe. The next day they didn’t allow unsupervised teens of any kind in and “Surprise!” no more trouble.

Had it been a bunch of white teens to you think anyone would have given a rats ass about it? Of course not. That part of Milwaukee (Still one of the most deeply segregated citys in the nation), though, is predominantly minority so a bunch of kids fighting is bleeping likely to be all minority. Which of course makes the right wing mental masturbators ecstatic.

Why would it be a national one? It’s some brawling. Why on earth would that be national news?

And why are you comparing it to riots wherein entire buildings go burned to the ground?
