She seems to be positioning herself as an alternative to the entire Republican field. As it were, there are all these politics-as-usual people—and then there is Sarah Palin, common-sense conservative and Real American.
Conjectures: Maybe she’s trying to deflate the primary process so it produces a deadlocked convention that will turn to her. Maybe she’s keeping her options open for a third-party run. Or maybe she’s an opportunistic narcissist who automatically positions herself for maximum visibility.
Palin succeeded in Alaska politics by breaking the established rules and playing by her own. She may not be realize that that will not work in the big leagues for someone with her level of talent.
Whatever she’s up to, her only benchmark is whether it’s good for Sarah Palin.

She prefers being an armchair candidate. Criticize, cricitize, but offer no solutions of her own. There’s a good JFK quote I found and apparently he was going to make it the day he was shot in Dallas but he basically said that there will always be people in the Republic who only find gloom and never favor. When that quote came up on my quote app on my Iphone, I immediately thought of Sarah and her allies.

I’ll take what’s behind door number 3. She’s just a media figure at this point. Running for elective office would mean she’d be accountable for things, and she doesn’t want that. She just wants to get paid.
