That's why the Right always has to be demonizing someone, be it gays, muslims or immigrants, in order to convince poor whites that those people are the real enemy so that they will keep voting against their own economic self-interest.

Not just poor whites, but racist whites of every class.

It's okay for them to demonize the poor but it's terrible for Buffett to suggest that the rich actually have to pay taxes. Assholes.

I have been looking for a new apartment and much of what the Fox people bitch about at the end of the segment, like 99.6% of poor people having refrigerators, for example, is that in the U.S. many of those items come standard in any apartment or house out there. The cost is calculated into the rent so the poor really are paying for them. Plus, microwaves have gotten quite cheap I bought one for my brother at Wal-Mart for 35 bucks on sale.

I don't get why this is such a big deal on the right. I am glad I live ina country were even the worst off have a few things. I don't want to live in a city surrounded by corrugated tin shanty towns.

I think if the people shown at Fox had their ways, we'd live in an Oligarchy. They really seem to regard the poor in the worst possible way.

Let's see. This super commission of 12 is supposed to agree on another 1.5 trillion deficit reduction; over 10 years.

Taxing the richest modestly would only generate $700 billion, over 10 years, according to a Fox talking head. Not worth it.

The disconnect is astounding.

At the same time as the Right is worrying about the poor having the luxury of not cooking over an open fire and keeping their milk cold by lowering it to the bottom of the well, I have heard people talking about how food stamps shouldn't be good for any sort of convenience foods, as though people in substandard housing could roast a turkey and store the leftovers somewhere.

I just keep wanting to ask all these complacent folks how their faith tradition informs their treatment of the poor. Grrr.

Unfuckingbelievable. Warren Buffet is one of the most successful capitalists in history. So when he veers from gop orthodoxy, what do right wing commentators do? They call him a socialist and accuse him of promoting class warfare. Truly idiotic shit from bizarro land, where up is down and capitalist is commie.
