1. With respect, Randall, my understanding is that Dominionism wants to impose itself on everybody. Mullet is claiming that the assaults are an intra-Amish matter. That might be lip service, but he is paying it.

2. Whatever the case may be, the Mullets and their fellow thugs are confused about the dividing line between church authority and state authority.

Men’s beards and women’s hair are valuable in Amish society, and they take a long time to acquire. Afaic the Mullets et al should compensate their victims. IMO it’s conceivable that fair compensation would be monetized as their current assets plus garnishment of their future earnings.

They can think of it as tuition for a badly needed civics lesson.
