Those are interesting. When seen at a distance the initial impression is “what the hell is that?” since it’s a “cloud” or group of dots flowing in the sky. In addition to often getting odd light effects when the flock swerves and the upper surface feathers reflect light that the matte lower feathers do not.

There’s a flock of these that hangs out near the bus terminal in San Francisco. The noise they make is unbelievable.

Sometimes, if we are very lucky, we are blessed with rare experiences of natural phenomena. These nature loving and adventurous ladies were truly blessed. Thanks for sharing.

Peoria Ill. has recordings of bird predators played over small loudspeakers mounted in the trees around their downtown park area at night to keep the flocks away. It works.
