Elizabeth Warren called a ‘socialist whore’ by Tea Party heckler
“Let me say two things. I’m very sorry that you’ve been out of work. I’m also very sorry that the recent jobs bill that would’ve brought 22,000 jobs to Massachusetts did not pass in the Senate,” she said to an applauding audience.
She then began to speak about the demonstrators railing against big banks, insisting she has been protesting against Wall Street for a very long time when the man interrupted.
“Yeah, so has the Tea Party,” he exclaimed. “…Well if you’re the intellectual creator of that so-called party, you’re a socialist whore. I don’t want anything to do with you.”
He then made a reference to Warren’s “foreign-born” boss, presumably President Obama, before walking out.
Warren later told the Huffington Post that she “actually felt sorry for the guy.”
“I really genuinely did. He’s been out of work now for a year and a half. And bless his heart, I mean, he thought somehow it would help to come here and yell names.”
The Massachusetts Senate race is considered a must-watch in 2012 - it’s one of the Dems’ few viable opportunities to pick off a Republican-held seat.
