UC Davis chancellor calls for task force to review pepper spraying of protesters
The UC Davis chancellor called Saturday for a review of the events that led to 10 arrests and pepper spraying of apparently non-violent protestors on the campus Friday.
The students, meanwhile, expect to return to the quad in greater numbers Monday, where Friday’s actions took place, according to one of the participants.
Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi spoke of “my sadness for the events of this past Friday,” in a statement released by the university’s news service.
It’s getting crazy out here in my neighborhood. Those cop statements aren’t going to stand up well against direct video evidence.
