Chrysler Ad to Air Just Once
Chrysler’s two-minute Super Bowl spot will air during Sunday’s game and “will reflect the very spirit of what Chrysler is today and how we view our role in society,” CEO Sergio Marchionne said tonight.
The ad will only air once.
Media reports have said the spot will feature Clint Eastwood who also has a Detroit connection: he was in Grosse Pointe Shores in 2008 filming the movie “Gran Torino.”
“It will once again be unconventional,” Marchionne said of the follow-up last-year’s $9 million two-minute “Imported from Detroit” spot last year featuring Detroit rapper Eminem that has since been replayed 21 million times on YouTube.
Marchionne would not discuss the new ad’s content of the new ad or what, if any, products would be featured. But he cautioned that it “will be improbable if not impossible” to deliver the same emotional wallop that last year’s “Imported from Detroit” spot packed.
