Psycho jerk was psycho
I couldn’t even imagine doing even the slightest bit of what Josh Powell did, let alone meticulously planning it. There is no doubt now in my mind that he killed his wife. (Actually, I believed this at “went camping at midnight with a 2 year old and a 4 year old.)
Apparently, the whole thing is a set up. He had been planning it for some time.
The home Josh Powell showed to authorities was nothing but a sham.
He did not live there. He did not keep his important things there.
And when he found he could not keep his children there he decided to blow it up.

At least he let the social worker live. There is that.
I held my six year old in my arms and rocked him today. Just saying.
