Why would ultra-orthodox Jews hate Israel? Honest question.

It's not all "ultra-Orthodox" Jews, just a noisy minority.

Kinda off-topic: Anyone find this Wikipedia article to be kinda bigotted? Why not name it "Laziness in Haredi Judaism"? [Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

There are those, who tend to take things VERY literally, that the state of Israel will only be re-established in the times of the Messiah. Anything before that would be like a premature birth, and hence risk the health and survival of the nation. The obvious problem (and the times of the Messiah are a given), that it's impossible to really know what the time of the Messiah will look like, not to mention so many other unrecognizable events and variables.

So they don't actually hate Israel, they just don't think that Israel is THE Israel.

The Haredi relationship to more secular Jews, according to the Haredi, would be based of the relationship between the tribes of Isaachar and Zebulun. This relationship constituted a type of protection for Israel. Zebulun was noted for business acumen, while Isaachar occupied itself with the study of Torah. Zebulun took care of Isaachar so that the Torah study could continue unabated.

In modern Israel, each group is convinced they are protecting the other.

BULLSHIT.

I am Haredi, have a college education, have worked 20 years at a professional career in the automotive industry. I have had periods of unemployment AND IT SUCKED.

Also, my son was in the IDF.

I was under the impression that the majority of Ashkenazi Haredi groups opposed Israel in one way or another. Isn't that true? What I had heard is that even the Chabad, who are somewhat supportive, still feel that Israel as a secular state is a deeply wrong thing, that nationalism for Israel is wrong.

Duke University engineers have developed a novel method for producing clean hydrogen, which could prove essential to weaning society off of fossil fuels and their environmental implications. WAPO’s Glenn Kessler Gives Three “Pinocchios” To Claim of Doctored Emails
It has long been part of the Washington game for officials to discredit a news story by playing up errors in a relatively small part of it.
