2 Well-Built Drug Tunnels From Mexico Uncovered
U.S. and Mexican authorities have found two well-built drug-smuggling tunnels featuring power, lights and ventilation in the past week, U.S. officials said today.
Wednesday night, the Mexican army found an unfinished, 600-foot-long tunnel that was started in a Tijuana bathroom and headed for a warehouse district in the San Diego suburb of Otay Mesa, where a similar tunnel was uncovered in November 2010.
Saturday, U.S. agents found the exit of a 750-foot-long passageway in a small business in San Luis, Ariz., near Yuma, the Drug Enforcement Administration said. Mexican soldiers found the entrance in an ice plant in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora.
