Awesome.

There's a lot of crazy here. There's an awful lot of this:

We support returning control of the education system to local jurisdictions and parental control.

Nevada, for example, goes all the way in supporting the elimination of the Department of Education.

Nice. Thanks CL.

Yeah, there's a whole bunch of weapons grade crazy. It gets even worse if you start looking at the county level.

Be sure not to miss the Texas one.

Thank you. Maybe we could also try to find something similar only for the democratic party. It would also be nice to see state by state platforms for the other party as well.

I didn't open the .pdf that is the platform (thanks for not linking directly to the pdf!), I'll do that tomorrow, but I did see this on the "resources" page:

Resources
Research and Public Policy:
Cato Institute
Center for the Defense of Free Enterprise
The Federalist Society
Heritage Foundation
Hoover Digest
Institute for Energy Research
The Insider
Media Research Center
The National Center for Public Policy Research
Sam Adams Alliance
Steven J. Milloy
Citizens' Alliance for Responsible Energy

News and Politics:
Congressional Quarterly
The Drudge Report
Fox News
The Hill
Human Events
National Review Online
Politico
Red State
The Wall Street Journal
The Weekly Standard

Human Events? Really? There are some other stinkers there, but I think HE is beyond the pale.

I thought about that as I came across a few Democratic party ones, but I didn't have time to do both. If I get some free time next week I'll try to do it.

I also ran across a couple that compared the two parties side by side, but I was distracted and didn't notice which party was putting them out. I imagine those are cherry-picked to make whoever's doing the comparison look their best, heh.

Yeah, heh, there's some *cough* interesting reading on some of those sites if you poke around a bit.

I linked to the PDF for many of them (debated not doing that, but them decided to go ahead). Some were hard to locate, but most are under the "About" section. It was interesting to see how modern/outdated vs. chaotic/organized the sites were. The strangest one was South Carolina in terms of design & "mystery meat" navigation. Why am I not surprised?...

What did surprise me was how well organized and slick some of the wingnuttier ones were. I wasn't expecting that.

Sorry, I didn't realize that.

Super disappointed to read the Massachusetts Republican platform. I expected more. Maybe I'm naive (although I'm old enough not to be).
