Mick Fanning Wins Billabong Pro Tahiti 2012
Teahupoo delivered some excellent surf for the final 2 days of this competition. Some of the heats were wave-starved and others were fully pumping, typical conditions for a long-period south swell. Kelly Slater was ousted in Round 3 because he just couldn’t find a really good wave in his heat. Several other surfers went down in a similar fashion, but when the surf pulsed, it was fantastic to see. This contest also marked the first time a high definition camera was used for the water angle footage, which resulted in some stunning visuals. Hats off to the entire webcast crew for bringing us such amazing coverage of this unique and special wave.
