Personally, I think that if President Obama is re-elected, a minority of the far right over here is going to move to open political violence. They're convinced they'll "saving America" or some such nonsense. I'd expect to see neo-secessionist movements pop up like dandelions.

Elements of the right wing have repeatedly threatened of violence if Obama is re-elected and I take them at their word.

Another person here who think that elements of the Right will go with 'Second Amendment solutions.'

But most of the US won't believe it will happen until it happens. They've been trained to think only Commies and Muslims are dangerous.

Part of the problem is that said right-wing extremists don't cause death and destruction in the same way that the popular vision of terrorists do. Instead of taking hostages or using explosives, we have these "lone gunmen" acts, where it's easy for the media to write the terrorists off as simply a crazed loner. Another problem is that while these American terrorists share a common ideology, they don't appear united in the way Al Queda is a united group.
