Actually we saw a deer crosswalk on a 4 lane divided highway in eastern Utah years ago. They ran high fences along either side for several miles and funneled the deer into one small stretch where there was an opening in the fence and a wide, well marked crosswalk. They warned the heck out of drivers as they approached the crosswalk. I assume it was a cost effective way of dealing with an established path of travel for the deer.
