Yup. My buddy runs a gun store, and while a Republican, was rooting for Obama. He didn't believe the "run the country into the ground" nonsense, but did realize that if Obama got in for a second term, he could make bank by stirring up just a touch of Wingnut fears.

One of my husband's friends, ditto. Don't know his politics, but he owns a gun store, and was already reporting lots of new sales as the election approached. Didn't even bother to 'stir up', he just sat back and raked in the money. Was talking about raising his prices for ammo.

I guess it's nice that business is good for someone, but still, yeesh.

re: #2 SanFranciscoZionist

Was talking about raising his prices for ammo.

And then blaming it on Obama when people complained. Pure genius.

So.... Obama is a jobs creator for the gun industry. I wonder if the NRA is going to send him a thank you gift basket of cheeses and wine.

The Lavender Scare
Here is an interesting article on one of Tail Gunner Joe's sick witch hunts that has, unfortunately, been forgotten. I try not to feel schadenfreude of the fate of McCarthy's side kick, Ray Cohn, but I never succeed.
