The caffeine extracted from de-caf doesn't just evaporate. It goes into these drinks.

13 deaths out of how many millions of drinks consumed? Yay fear mongering!

Public perception of caffeine is highly irrational.

I had to show id at a Walmart to buy caffeine pills (200 mg each which I cut into quarters) while standing next to a display of 2-liter bottles of Mountain Dew (1825 mg per bottle) available to anyone no questions asked.

Is their heart/health damage down the line from this? No one dies from smoking a cigarette until years later.

I am a heavy coffee drinker but this made my heart rush badly. I am a runner so I could handle it and as a runner I can tell my heart was pounding. I think the problem is taking all that caffeine in one gulp rather than over time as you would a coffee drink.

 Frank says:

You don't have the slightest understanding of the difference between government action and private action, and you have certainly destroyed any case you might otherwise have had with this Senator. -- Senator Gorton, to which Frank Zappa responds with "Is this private action?"
